On page 18 of Toy Soldier & Model Figure are a couple of new sets.A member of the 35th foot capturing Royal Roussillon colors at Quebec and another Brit shooting a pistol while on his knees and a dead French soldier.I prefer woodland type combat figures but these caught my eye.I might start collecting some Frontline because no one else seems to be coming out with them in matte. My only gripe about Frontline's figures is that they are a little too clean and neat.I would like to see them in some tattered and dirty clothes as they didn't have replacements too often and the uniforms a lot of times were adapted to the rough terrain of North America.

Another thing I notice with the Frontline French sets is that their hats seem to be more of the type worn during the ARW.The Montcalm set has the figures wearing the tricorne hat which I thought was what was worn during the FIW.I'm far from an expert but if anybody can elaborate on this feel free to do so.

Hey Mark...Frontline is really coming out with some nice sets for the FIW.

I have recently bought some of the older stuff that appealed to me...
1-RR1
1-RR3
1-RR5
1-ICW.3
1-ICW.5

but the newer sets are really sweet.

I don't think I would ever collect the whole series....but a lot of the sets appeal to me.

BGG.2
BGG.3
FGG.2
HMA.2....the set you mentioned
IWH.3

I love the
FPW.1......Montcalm you mentioned and the hats seem good to me.

I have been playing with John's figures so long...that I'm spoiled on the durability of them....I know you and Dragoon got broken sets recently....but that's pretty rare...from what I have seen.

Frontline's just seem so delicate...I mean...the weapons are always bent and so fragile and so light.

The weight difference is just hard to pass on.

I own a lot of Frontline Zulu....a lot...and I always have trouble with the spears and bayonets.

Even though I'm fussing about them...I'm sure I will buy some more.

You gotta admit...they have a pretty extensive line if you like FIW.

More money...more money...more money!!!!

and yea....you're right...they are a little too clean....but I can live with that...it's Frontline's style.....

and my other drawback...I'm so drawn to the Collector's Showcase figures.

Mike,
I think the left hand is a weak point on the figure and is hard to protect. I am a big CS fan even though I have never brought any of their items:confused:They just haven't done a range I'm interested in collecting even though I have interest in AZW and ACW.Those Polish Lancers look great don't they?:)If they ever do FIW look out.

I agree Mark...after closer examination...the wrist looks a little too narrow.

It extends from the sleeve of his jacket pretty far too.

It is one of my most favorite figures he has done...but I can honestly say...it does look like it could be a "stress spot" on the figure.

I can see why he's one of your favorits Michael an see the reasons for your concern he a great choice to be added to your collection.
