Hi

does anyone know what new releases are planned for 2009 - 1/32nd scale - ITALERI, IMEX, hat, A CALL TO ARMS, CONTE, AIRFIX etc... etc...

Despite the credit crunch our hobby is still relatively inexpensive - you can buy a box of 20 figures for a few quid/greenbacks and spend hours painting - its better than boozing or womanising!!

any news would be interesting

Dave, have to disagree, boozing and womanizing is much better than painting figures!
I spoke with the people of TSSD at OTSN and they said they should have a new plastic set out by the West Coast show in March. They wouldn't say what it is.
As for Conte, forget it. I don,t see him doing anything in plastic in the foreseable future other than different colored Spartans.

Hi Gary
yes you are right but women spend all our money and dont like us having hobbies. (only joking my dear if you read this!)

I am going to have a crack at these new 28mm plastic wargames figures coming on the market in multipose packs. Victrix have a few sets out of British Infantry Napoleonic Wars and I understand a few others - Perry Miniatures and Wargames Foundry are also in the fray. I might not like them but will be something different to try

9th Hussar i just picked up a set of Vicrtix British Naps they just looked to good to pass up.
By the way i think A Call To Arms might be dead.:(
but you might want to double check i dont want to be the one to give the bad news.

Hi - what are they like in comparison to 1/72nd figures?
Mine havent arrived as yet and I am intrigued to know what size they are

9th I don't have mine yet i just got a email saying that they have been.
dispatched i should have them by next week.
28mm are much bigger then 1/72

A CALL TO ARMS - tried to find out if they are still trading but no luck - would be a real shame if they have gone under as they have done well over the last 10 years. There was supposed to be a set of 17th Lancers at Ulundi Zulu War 1879.
Their cavalry suffered from being under sized and dainty which may not have helped. Having just a few poses of horses was also a drawback.
All the same I hope that they are still operating

'A very reliable source' has told me that ACTA have plans for some new releases next year, but he wouldn't say what, so I don't think they have 'gone under'.

AIP have exciting plans for new stuff, both with additions to current ranges and returns to older ones.

Hi Mike
excellent news - looking forward to their new releases - hope that they do more horse poses though in their cavalry sets and a touch larger in stature

Hi Mike

why doesnt A Call to Arms update their website - it has had no updates for over a year or more - it hardly generates new interest - I take it that you know the owners of ACTA?
