Hi
any new sets planned for 1/32nd in plastics?
Gone a bit quiet apart from the new sets due on Steve Weston's website.
Are Airfix going to release more 1/32nd soldiers?

According to Airfix, they won't have anything new this year, neither will Italeri. HaT have already had 2 new sets but missed a another set which was supposed to have come before these.
CTS had 2 new sets, and have just released a third.
Paragon should have their new set for September along with 2 sets from TSSD and 2 sets from Barzso.
My prediction: next year will be a very low year for releases, as any Company that is planning sets will have started production this year.
If Sales are low, then they won't take the financial risk, so it's all down to you guys to get out there and support YOUR hobby and prove that there is enough interest to make new sets viable. Without this, there won't be any incentive and we will loose the huge amount of production that we have seen over the last 6 of 8 years.

Steve raises an extremely important point - plastic figures need lots of sales volume to recover the molding costs. No volume = no new figures, the math is just that simple. One big problem is that plastic still has the dispersion of interest that is seen in the metals. I may buy a lot of WW2 figures and some western cavalry, but I have no use for other eras. Many Nap guys have no interest in buying lots of WW2 stuff, so it is hard to get the desired sales volume. Not quite "Catch 22" but close....

Hi

I am looking forward to the new AIP sets 54mm of British mounted Camel troops 1882-1884 period. I have these on pre-orer with Steve Weston so why not get some ordered for your collection - they should be fantastic painted. Four Feathers period - just need to make a figure of Lieutenant Harry Faversham

keep collecting
