Got me new FoV jeep and trailer set recently via Minutemen Toy Soldiers. On the bad news, it's kind of pricey for a small vehicle. On the good news it's a pleasing little model. Point of amusement - the vehicle isn't labeled as a "jeep" because somehow Daimler-Chrysler trademerked that name (although one could say that "jeep" without a capital J is a generic term). The really amusing thing is that the Daimler-Chrsler Corp had NO CONNECTION with the WW2 jeep. They apparently also made a trademark of the seven-slot grill image (which was a WW2 production improvement from an engineer at Ford!). Anyway, back to the model; this has a couple improvements over the previous FoV jeep (like separate lift handles at the rear). This one comes with a nicely molded raised canvas top that is to snap in place. One driver figure is included (not bad, but certainly not Unimax's best casting). This vehicle comes with a nice-looking 1/4 ton cargo trailer and a few pieces to put in it (some jerrycans, an ammo box and an open box with bottles). The model also comes with a plastic "wire cutter" bar that can be placed on the front bumper, a set of top bows in stowed position (in case you don't use the canvas top) and a radio antenna (but NO RADIO!). Initial impression is good. The vehicle looks like a WW2 jeep. The trailer wheels appear to sit a bit wide to my eyes, but that can be fixed by trimming the axle a wee bit. The truck comes marked for the 101st Airborne Division's engineer battalion, but these markings aren't had to change if you like a different unit. So a bit on the expensive side, but a nice model and a nice addition to any Allied convoy or other scene.
