FoV's new US truck is available. Mine arrived the other day from George at Minutemen. Overall apperance is very pleasing. This truck is small, but it looks OK next to a jeep and the real truck wasn't terribly big. The model is a Dodge 1.5 ton 6X6 light truck. These were less about being cargo trucks than about being personnel carriers for light guns, etc. These were used by infantry regiments to pull the light 105mm howitzers in the regimental cannon company and to pull the 57mm guns in the battalion AT platoon (3 guns/bn) and the regimental antitank company (another nine 57mm guns). I have also seen a photo of one of these marked with red crosses as a forward ambulance. The model commes with markings for a regimental cannon company of the 315th Infantry Reg't of the 79th Infantry Division. Where the bumper says "79-315-1" the "1" should be the letter "I" the "CN" on the other side of the bumper refers to the regiment's cannon company. The model comes with a ring mount for a .50 caliber MG. A driver and gunner are included. Like many FoV items, a bit pricey but generally a nice model.

By the way - I have seen photos of these in use with the Free French, but haven't come across them in UK service yet.
