Did anyone else read the new Sierra News Letter out today and the news that John will be announcing a new series at the Chicago Show.:eek::eek:

Who, how, what, were, when, .............

I need to go and have one of my little pink tablets and a lie down, this is all to much. :D:D:D

When’s the Chicago show? I’m guessing the new series will be another F&I battle (hopefully the battle of fort Carillon) or does this mean John is starting on an entirely new conflict?

It's the week of September 22, with things probably picking up on the 25th and the actual show on the 28th.

That's what I call good news, bad news. We are pushing $300 per month for the current releases. Hopefully, JJ spreads things out a bit so we can keep up.

I’m thinking the same thing. I’m guessing that the new series would not pick up until the start of the new year after some of the older series end.

The comment from the news letter was:

"We are hosting John Jenkins in our rooms on Saturday afternoon. We did this last year and it was a huge success. On that occasion he launched his hugely successful Snowshoes Collection. Well, this year with the cooperation of the factories and Customs he is hoping to launch a whole new line. John hasn't given away any hints, so we're as much in the dark as to what it will be as you are. So please stop by and visit with him, see the new releases. "

What new line means is the question, another FIW Battle or a new conflict.

Combat a $300 a month habit, it sounds like you need to join my TSA Club (Toy Soldier Anonymous). :D

My hope is that it is FIW related. If it replaces BOS which should be ending soon, then it may be something small like Fort Necessity. If it is a larger line -Ticonderoga or Louisbourg. It could also be 1812 related - Brits?

Yes, $300+ a month probably qualifies me for YAN (You Are Nuts). At least I have given up the Russian figures which are running $300-500 apiece (at least for the moment). ;)

I am hoping for a new conflict, but my money is on some British for the 1812 Series. But that is not a whole new line, so a new battle then. Did I just go all the way around in a circle.

Combat just to make you feel better, my current preorders on JJD sets only this month currently sits at $1,700 and this month is a quite one.

Last month with K&C and Frontline sets my orders were double that.

And think you are nuts, get in line. :D:D:D

To me “launch a whole new line” sounds like and new conflict or something completely different.

I hope so, I like Johns figures very much, but he has limited himself to FIW to date. Something completely different would be excellent.

I do not mean Napoleonic, AWI, WW2, Knights, so on, all been done to death by others.

What about WW1 Aussies and Turk (had to put that one in), Walsh/Scots, Ancient China, Borer War, British Colonial Wars, Jacobite Wars, Seven Year War, so on.

Been here before all are guesses, we will have to wait until the show.

Who is going to the show to get us the answers and pictures.

up the '45! Jacobite figures by JJD would just about finish me. i drool at the thought of all those tartan designs and weapons JJD could do. -- lancer

If it is something other than FIW, I'm guessing seven years war in Europe.

I think if he says a whole new line he means something besides FIW and 1812.The Monongahela and Snowshoes series should be ending soon.I think he has plans on expanding the Quebec series,I don't think he would do another major battle like Ticonderoga with the Quebec series still going. The St.Francis line has barely begun.Need a lot of Rangers and Indians yet.I don't think the 1812 is doing all that well. I'm thinking early 19th cen.,maybe Mexican-American War.I'm probably wrong on all counts but I'll be honest I need a break from buying, buying, buying.

I have to admit that I am completely hooked on John's figures. The workmanship and quality is superior. Dispite my previous post about Monte Python, I really don't have an opinion on what he offers next. Whatever it is, I will be buying it.:)

I think he should try his hand in the Eastern European area. I would really like something as unique as Vlad "the Impaler" Tepes of Romania and his struggle with the Ottoman Empire. Lately, I have been picking and choosing the new released sets. I have most of the Monongahela, all of the Plains of Abraham, about 75% of the Snowshoes, none of the St. Francis and all but the causalty set from 1812. He definitely has the most sturdy figures in the market that I know of and with great detail.

I hope he will come with something I don't collect, like Napoleonics. I really would hate a new serie like the Boxer Rebellion or the Boer Wars.

Make sure someone takes pictures of JJD new stuff at Chicago and put it on the forum - thanks ! :)

Pierre,

The big trouble I can see is it does not really manner what the new series or battle is we will all be buying it.

Tell me it is not so. ;)

I would say Napoleonics 99.99999% not.

My top 5 picks:

1. New Battle or Line for FIW.
2. Seven Year War.
3. Jacobite Rebellions.
4. Something Colonial (Boer, Boxer, Indian, so on).
5. Ancient China.

I'm thinking British and Canadian troops for 1812. But I'm hoping Monty's idea for the Jacobite Rebellion is the dark horse winner.;)
