Has anyone purchased any of the four new John Jenkins French Marine sets from the Seven Years War:confused: I would appreciate it if anyone that has them or anyone whom has seen them would post their opinions, impressions, and/or thoughts regarding these new releases. My hopes are that they are as good or better than the first three releases of British infantry. Thanks in advance.:)

Michael I bought the marine militia and really like them. They are as good as the English but I opted for Frontlines French instead of the rest of the Jenkins sets right now. They are the same scale and I couldn't resist the standard bearer. Frontline said they deliberately made these larger .I'm going to intermix them. I took a picture of a K&C, Jenkins, and Frontline and they are all exactly the same height. If I can figure out how to get my pictures to the computer I'll post it for you. I plan on collecting all of Jenkins stuff because they are really great. He is switching to the battle of Quebec for his next sets.I saw them at the show and they are very reminiscent of his Roger's rangers he did with Frontline. I really like this time period and hope both Jenkins and Frontline continue to expand their ranges.

Jenkins is also working on more British Just in case you are interested.:)

I found that John Jenkins' soldiers are very good too imo. I have purchased the French Marines and all the first series of British he made. It seems to me that these lastest released are larger?

I will collect the series as they come out.

This is a picture to compare the size difference of Jonn's pieces with K&C(Revolutionary) and Frontline(French & Indian).I think they match up very well.

Hi Sage,
I have purchased many of the Jenkins sets during the fall. I have the British Grenadiers, Regulars, and Command Set. I also purchased both versions of the French Marines, Coureur de Bois and the Indians with bow and arrows. In some instance i purchased multiple sets because I was so pleased with Jenkins sets. What I really like is that the finished product looks like the photos that you see on line.

Concerning the french Marines, FM001 is fantastic, FM002 is fine, however, if you have to chose between the two, go with FM001. I passed on FM003, the poses were not so interesting.

Another point. I recently purchased two of Frontline's Roussillon sets, IFW01 and IFW03. They are equally as nice as Jenkins F&I figures. The set of Roussillon firing is very well done.

Just my 2cents.
Benjamin
