Good morning everyone and welcome to the latest releases from John, which I know you will enjoy. This will most likely be the last announcement for 2008. But do not worry as he has lots more in plan for 2009, with some really good surprises.

Hope you enjoy

BATTLE ON THE MONONGAHELA 1755
Under fire from all sides, General Braddock presented a fine target for all the French and Indians surrounding the British forces at Monongahela. It was therefore no surprise that during the two and a half hours of the battle Braddock had 4 or 5 horses successively shot from under him.

After approximately 2 hours of the battle whilst attempting to rally his faltering troops Braddock was finally struck down and fell off his horse with a mortal wound.

This much anticipated set, draws the Monongahela collection to a close. There are however a few extra surprise pieces to come over the next few months.

To view the complete collection of “The Battle On The Monongahela”, I recommend a visit to The Toy Soldier Museum, where Jim H. Hillestad has created a magnificent diorama to display the collection.

I appreciate the extra cannon crew. The cannon will look much better with a full crew. And of course, everything lives up to John's great skills. :):):)

Great stuff as always. Anyone find the pictures of the Monongahela dio? I don't see any on the Toy Soldier Museum webpage.

John told me he has some pictures from the TS Museum that he will email me to post.

Very good releases. The French artillery crew set is a nice surprise. Is it just me or do the numbers of releases per month seem to be lessening? We haven’t had a battle on snowshoes set released in the last two months.

Yes ... more artillery crew, means I buy more guns. :)

Releases have slowed and now, I am waiting on more French and 1812 Redcoats.

Anyone got the Hielanders yet? How about a quality report? -- lancer

I received the Dec. and Nov. releases today. All great stuff. The whaleboat may be the release of the year, but the Braddock set is a real gem too. The Jacobites are also very well done. Just not quite sold on that historical period yet.

Combat,

You are very right, the Nov & Dec releases from John are some of his best yet.

It should be a very interesting year to see what is next from John.

Hi,
Did the pictures from the Toy Soldier Museum ever materialise?

Thanks

Pete

This is the only one that I have seen: John presenting the Braddock set to the owner. The Monongahela dio is in the background.

John is on the left.

If you go to the web site there is a film that I think includes some JJ figures.
