Greetings Forum Froggers!
We've just unpacked and received some truly excellent vehicles for King & Country collectors.
The first is a German tank, the Panzer 35(T). This light Czech-built tank served in the early phases of the war, but was retired in favor of German-built tanks as WWII unfolded. Of the Panzer 35(T) units used by Germany, only 26 remained fully operational to be sold to Romania after the Germans withdrew from Russia in April of 1942. The few that were still in service had their turrets and hull machine guns removed to be used as artillery tractors and munition carriers, the Artillerie Schlepper and the Mörserzugmittel 35(t).
The second piece is an Allied aircraft, the first from King & Country in 2014. A Mk.I/II Supermarine Spitfire from No. 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron, this particular craft comes with its pilot, Squadron Leader "Sandy" Johnstone as a figure seated in the cockpit. The Battle of Britain was fought in the skies and in the words of the Right Honourable Sir Winston Churchill, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
