Heritage have some figures in development for the latter part of the British involvement on The North West Frontier.

Shown are two Highland Light Infantry figures in MacKenzie tartan trews, and an Indian Cavalry trooper (although this example is painted as 9th Indian Cavalry form the Sudan, but you get the idea!)

Is this a range people would like to see expand? Bear in mind, Heritage are working on Afghan tribesmen at present to extend the existing NWF range.

Fantastic!!
I would love to see the series expand...especially for those of us that want to move on from Sudan / Zulu period into a more challanging period which was the Northwestern Frontier ..... Great add nos even more now that you have mentioned an Afghan supplement.....
The current Sudan British Army series if adequately tweaked can pass as the earlier part of the British effort into controlling and policying the Khyber Pass....But if you can supply the troops with Lee Metfords instead of the Martin Henrys as you are currently doing will be a great leap.....Giving you even the opportunity of expanding into providing the troops with support fire such as maxim machineguns and nice mountain guns.....Very present and active during the Khyber Pass head to head encounters....{sm4}{sm4}
I am adding here some pictures of troops from that period that were produced long time ago by manufacturers such as Stadden, Lasset as ideas.......
Cheers
Luiz

Those figs pictured have the Lee Metford and Slade pattern webbing correct for the period.

I should point out that Heritage's Highland foot figures are just £30ea, standard infantry are £25ea and cavalry are £55.

I will be posting a pic of a HLI bugler next and then other poses.

We have just released the 72nd Highlanders from 2nd Afghan War, which expands the range beyond the Gordons with which we launched it. More poses for both 72nd and Gordons are in painting at present too. Some have just been released and are on the website.

Get your orders into Ken at Heritage and he will get Martin and me on with expanding the range!

Thanks for the pics, lots to be going on with.

When do you estimate having photos of the Afghan Tribesmen ? Both the Gordon's and 72nd look great and I am very interested depending on how the Afghans look , I think it would be fantastic if the range was expanded, I have Contes North West Frontier but sadly we didn't get the Afghans so it would be great for Heritage to cover the Range extensively

Hi Bruce,
Fantastic new website and selections....Loved the Omdurman 1898, as well as the Northwestern Frontier....Congrats......
Have quite a Regiment of yours from the Northwestern Frontier and a few special sets you made me a couple of years ago....Now I am tempted on the Omdurman Scots.....I have a project going for a pretty large Black Watch Reinforced fly column and some sets on offensive/defensive rolls could be handly...need to check scale though.....:salute:::salute:::salute::
Cheers
Luiz

I assume people know the Afghans have been available for a while?

Have a look at

http://www.heritage-miniatures.com/north-west-frontier/

there are a number of sets of tribesmen and a flag bearer.
