I'm a big fan of the Weta group in New Zealand - perhaps most famous for their special effects work on Lord of the Rings. After doing some browsing through their monthly newsletter, I found this: http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/paintedtoysoldiers

Very clever stuff, for mine, especially 'under the line', and reasonably priced too.

I'm also a big fan of Weta and of director Peter Jackson. Mr Jackson is a huge WWI nut like myself. These look pretty good , very creative , love the subject matter. I smell trouble  . The resin kits also look very nice. Thanks for the info Gebhard

The "Little Contemptibles" are also featured in the current issue of "Toy Soldier Collector". Their sets, "Taking Cover" and "Under the Line" are offered as the prize in the magazine's regular giveaway section. You can be eligible to win one of the sets, if you know the original Maori name for what is now the Miramar suburb of Wellington.

Jackson is really doing his best to give both hobbies, scale modeling and toy soldier collecting, a real boost.

Prost!

On the Perry brothers website they have pictures of prototype WWI figures they were doing for Peter Jackson.I think the pictures are a few years old now.

Donnie (lenswerks) has written about them, if you do a search.

I have both sets and would recommend them.
The Under The Line set is very unique with lots of detail.

Here is a photo of the Taking Cover set. I am hoping they make sets that can be added on to this one - that butt up against it.

Have taken a look, these look very nice and the under the line set does look very original. Another website joins my favorites list...;). Thanks for the info.
