I am retiring to Italy soon and must sell off my collection. I started with K&C 30 years ago. I have several nice retired sets. Both mounted boxers, A complete parade set of seaforth highlanders... bank (both sets), 12 trouper + sergeant, color guard and the Regimental Flag (big one)...

I need your advice on what it's worth and how to best sell.

also have trophy and tradition sets. modern WW1 britians, oh, any one interested in a Heco WW1 tank? all with boxes and everything I received... thanks. IBR

Hello "IBR":

Overall. the best way to sell items is via eBay. Most older retired K&C sets sell for at least noteworthy profits. Since Trophy went out of business the end of 2006 they also sell for at least some profits vs oringinal prices. If you do not want to sell items your self you can go to assorted consignment eBay sellers. Also, you can sell on consignment via Treefrog treasures, check out their information off of their home page or call Julie or Shannon at 1-866-394-2418. They can also help you with what to ask for price wise. Good luck!

E-Bay would be the way to go,or come to the Texas Toy Soldier Show in San Antonio....Memorial day weekend and sell them as a dealer. Contact KingsX in San Antonio for dealer info. :salute::

I agree with PanzerAce. Take your collection to Texas so we can have the first crack at it. :)

I am very interested in your Heco WWI tank. I will send you a private message with my contact information. Could you post or e-mail me a photo of the Heco tank?

Thanks in advance,

Louis

You definitely have some desirable sets! The challenge is how to offer them in a fair way.

We have several members of the forum who often help folks with pricing of older K&C.

eBay is an option, which allows folks to set their own prices. It takes a bit of work, but can provide good returns.

Selling on the forum is also an option...there are always folks looking for older sets.

If you don't want much hassle, the Treefrog Consignment service is always an option (insert shameless plug here :)). It keeps folks from having to deal with the bother of selling, shipping, etc. Info is at http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/consignment.htm

Good luck!

Does anyone know if any dealer in the UK offers something similar to Treefrog's consignment service?

I think Peter has given some good options. If you are not familiar with using ebay, selling on there can be a hassle. Plus they take a cut of your final price and out of what you charge to ship if I am not mistaken. I would explore the other options very closely, IMHO.

Even if you are unable to sell off completely before you transfer/retire to Italy, there is a dealer in Italy, Alessandro Salvaggio, who manages a good website for rare toy soldiers and eBay listings. I do not know his charges to sellers, but my dealings with him as a buyer have been very pleasant and smooth.

I forgot to note on my prior posting for you that I tried the Consignments Sales offered by Treefrog Treasures between August 2011 and early 2012 and everything went well. Shannon and Julie were very helpful. Their commission fees were reasonable.
