Does anybody own one of these? If so do you know if Britains released it on the black horse as show in the catalogue or the correct brown horse?

Thanks Scott didn't think to look in treefrogs shop! now that horse does look the part painted brown I might pick up a few now :D :D :D The other question I have is are the Lifeguards & Blues & Royals figures up to the same standard paintwise or do they still look like they used to?

No problem !! :) Can't help you on LG or B7R as I haven't seen any in person. But does seem a bit better going by this and at least the white is down by the horses hooves instead of a band halfway up their legs.

I just wish the helmets were silver!!!

Its the reigns that put me off them really dont know why some of them were painted like the lifeguards trumpeter & mounted policeman but others were not LG B&R troopers

Probably because the reigns are "black" and on a black horse would not show up. I added titch of silver paint to mine when I re did a couple of them. My biggest gripe is the base, those horses are sound and do not need them !!!

Here are two that I repainted

Yes I did think that maybe the reigns were black but there has to be a different shade of black that could be used & there are other bits to the reigns that would be gold & just haven't been painted, I like what you have done with yours they really look the part  & totally agree about the stands I never worked out why they started putting them on!!! I did think the Redcoat's were moving away from the stands but looks like they have gone back to using them again  :( really makes my Redcoat collection look odd with some placed on stands & some not.

Scott did you paint the white sash on to the breast plate? It looks like you did but I can't be certain from the angle of the photo? If so what paint did you use to get it to stick to the plastic?

Craig

I can't remember LOL If they normally come unpainted the I did paint it.. The paints I used were Testors (the type in the little square glass jars) used for model kits etc...

Cool thanks they don't usually come painted the only ones I've ever seen painted are in the 2nd limited edition set they made, I think I might give this a go!!!

It was fairly easy, just need a very fine brush. I didn't repaint the whole lifeguard I just touched up any chipped bits and just embellished where necessary, the paints matched up quite well I think. Don't forget to paint the helmet silver :D

That's all I would do touch up the reigns & kit including the helmet! Well looks like I'm going to pick up A mounted lifeguard & blues & royals next time I pop to my local dealer!

I'm thinking 6 of each plus 6 of the new Royal Horse Artillery trooper but think ill start with just one of each to make sure I can paint it properly!
