I thought I,d post a few pictures of the the size difference between the new britains, K&C and patriot figures.
I think the new britains go o.k. with the K&C stuff which is wierd becuase they are listed as 1/32 and K&C as 1/30, and the new patriot figures are listed as 1/30 and seem larger then the K&C wich are also 1/30 but to me the K&C mix better with the new britains,if you know what I mean and didn,t loose you in that! Here are a few pictures of side by sides so you can judge for yourself but, this is best done in person as the camera angles can trick your veiw. If you see all 3 in person you,ll see what I mean.

Hi Tim,

Your pictures are great and they clearly illustrate the concern you have regarding the scales of the three manufacturers. In my opinion, it would be difficult to mix any of the three sets of figures, but if you needed to do so, the K&C and Britains are a better match as you suggested.

Thank you for sharing those pictures. They are very helpful to me in planning my next purchases!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Actually, if you mix them up as Tim has done, Patriots with kneeling K & C or Britains, the differences don't seem that severe.

Tim, thanks for the picutres. This comparision does help me as I am looking to buy some soldiers from all three companies.

I think the figures in the last two photos with standing and kneeling figures are all Patriot.

Thanks Tim,

Your pictures look great and are quite helpful to me as I plan my future purchases as well. Looks like you have a nice diorama there too. ;)

Yes the last two photos are all patriots tirailleurs, I just snaped a couple of quick photos of them all together while I had them all out.
I think they look great which is what gets me upset about the larger size! If they didn,t look so good I,d pass them up with the size issue but, they look to good! I think the larger size was a marketing mistake and wish he would make all the next sets a bit smaller but he has stated that he has many more in the works already and they are also in this size also, OH WELL!!!:(

I have not measured one of Patriot's new Napoleonic figures, so I am just speculating ... I think Robert designed his figures to be true 1/30 scale, not realizing that many of K&C's Napoleonic figures are actually 1/31 scale. The height difference is then compounded by the thicker base used by Patriot.:)

Hi Tim,
Thanks for posting the nice pictures and the effort of doing the comparaison. I realy love your gate, are the doors fixed, or can they be in an open position?
Robert

Thanks, thats the britains retired north gate set from there last napoleonic series and the gates can be opened or closed as they are on hinges but this set in the picture has a broken hinge on one of the gates and I just have it resting in place on the other gate I got this as a second set real cheap because it was broken and haven,t gotten around to fixing it yet I just use it as a back drop to take quick photos. I have another set with the figures also and its a real nice set, one of the best britains has ever done in my opion.

Your napoleonic figures look incredible by the way, sorry to go on about the size issue but its just because I like them and wish they were smaller.:p

Maybe in the future you can do something like this britains north gate diorama set with a diorama piece to go with the figures.

Tim,
Thanks for the information on the gate.
It's perfectly OK to express one's opinion on a certain product and I am always listening carefully to them and make necessary adjustment whenever is possible.
Regards
Robert
