Now that I see you signed on Andy thought I'd hit you up for a question. Any idea what the new Napoleonics will be and their release date (approximately).

Yes Napoleonics, the one true period.Victory, resistance is futile.
French Light Infantry anyone? Chassuers, Voltiguers and Carabiners{ my favorite} please.
Campaign dress would be nice.Any French Line or light in Campaign dress would be super.

One of the things thats makes this era so appealing are the calvary sets. I enjoy military calvary units and this era is sure packed with them. The sets look like little miniature works of art. Anyway....sorry wellington back to your question.

Speaking of Napoleonics...I finally bought an original Brown Bess a couple of weeks ago (no jokes from Brad either), I traded it for an antique set of armor (100 years old)($2700.00)... , the musket looks nice on top of the fire place with my french dragoon pistol. Both are from the Napoleonic wars both dated, 1812 and 1813. They are a nice accent to my K&C Napoleonics and prints.

WELLINGTON....:)

Ahhhh a man and his castle...the wife loves it...NOT, but she was happy to get rid of the tin man as she puts it, it was a fair trade off.

Dear Wellington,

I've copied Andy's previous post from 1/4/06. Looks like Scots Greys, British Royal Horse Artillery and additional French & British infantry.:)

3. So, what Napoleonics can you expect?

At present I’m working on long-awaited British Cavalry… I’m virtually 100% positive they will be Scots Greys – that’s the feedback from the vast majority of requests we get from NA collectors. Also, British Royal Horse Artillery in action. Plus additional Infantry – French & British.

Potential release date: Second Quarter of 2006.

Wellington

Hope you took my joke in the spirit ment.:D

I was just haveing a bit of fun.

Hi Guys,

Here’s an update on some of the new Napoleonics that are in the works…

In April we hope to release something a wee bit unusual – 4 Napoleonic Cavalrymen in a relaxed mode that can sit around a farmhouse table – a Dragoon… a live Chasseur… a Hussar and a Chasseur à Cheval. They’ll look great in the courtyard of our recently released French Farmhouse.

Later in the year July/August we hope to launch our British Cavalry in Action – 7 or 8 Scots Greys. We looked at all British Napoleonic Cavalry Regiments, discussed it with collectors and dealers and the consensus seeded to be “It must be The Greys!” I’ve seen the first batch of sculpts yesterday and they look great and dramatic!

I’m also looking into some other Napoleonic ideas… Some from the forum and some of our own.

Best wishes to one and all, and …. Happy Collecting!

Andy C.

Sounds great....I smell a 2nd french farm house in the works, my Brits occupy the first. The second farm house maybe good to display the recently release assorted new Napoleonic calvary as well.

Andy just wondering.... my dealer tells me that the assorted calvary that you just released are on back order. The second batch was to be delivered in February. I have been waiting patiently just wondered if this is true that the second batch for February are still being shipped in full to various dealers or is my dealer pulling my leg?

The Military Channel and the History Channel have both shown the two series WWI and WWII in Color. They are color enhanced but the original is still in color. Over the years the color negatives begin to lose color due to the deterioration of the chemicals use in the film's manufacture. It is not like what Ted Turner has done to some of the classic B&W feature movies that were originally shot in B&W. These two series were originally shot in color but have been rehabilitated to bring back the original. Some times it looks a little funky but that’s the price we pay for not better preserving our history.

Did you know that most of the first action shots of D-Day were lost when a jr. officer was returning the negatives to England and dropped them over the side of the ship as he was disembarking and that the only existing original film of the first atomic weapon dropped on Japan is from an unofficial camera a crewman happened to bring along. The photographic plane's film was also lost. I don’t remember how, but these images are gone forever due to human problems. Just think of all of the pictures that were lost from the ACW when Brady's original photographic plates were dropped or broken when the person handling them did not know what they were. It is estimated that more than 5,000 of his original photos were lost that way. Sad when you think of all the recorded history that has been lost, sort of like burning the Library at Alexandria. :( Michael
