Rick asked me to post new official photos of Figarti Miniature's Winter Tiger I. There have been lots of criticism of Figarti's past pictures on the forums and Figarti is trying to improve its photographs. Feel free to post any comments regarding the photos or tank for Rick to see. :)

Steven,

They're much clearer. When there's that much detail to show off, I think there's a need for those close up shots. Lighting is much better as well.

I am one of those who like Figarti products and I am also one of those who have commented on the need to improve their products photographic presentations.

I have hesitated in purchasing a Tiger due to some of the comments regarding damage from shipping (which also seems to have improved based on comments on the forum) and a concern about what the tank looks like in person. It is has a large price tag (for me) and I want to make sure that my purchase has a value associated with it that I will not regret if it disappoints me in some way. I am a collector who does not have the opportunity to visit a store and see the products in person; I have to use web site photographs, comments on this forum and recommendations from my dealer of choice. This set of photographs is a great improvement in the use of lighting, background (in both color and texture) and of the camera’s close-in capabilities. The photographs now show the tank's wonderful detailing up close and clearly. :) :)

I've got to admit, I set my mind against these Tigers, from both a cost and just too many Tigers aspect.
But man! They really are something special, I have to reconsider after seeing the Winter Tiger up close.

I had to search the archives for this thread. Over the past few months, I have wanted to get a tiger-I into my collection really bad. I was considering the K&C Desert model, and of course the HB special order. Although some actually perfer 1/30 scale, I would rather make diorama's with the 1/32 scale, because they are a tad less bulky. Anyway, I read somewhere, in another thread that Louis [who's opinion means alot in these matters], raved about the Figarti Tigers. Well, I just purchased the monster brand new on e-bay for less than $200. Considering the 5 man crew, the detailed interior, which is very unique, I hope it will be the centerpiece of my collection.

I have one of these winter ones, and a Normandy version, and they really are beyond fantastic. I think you will be very pleased with your purchase, although I wish Figarti offered them in 1:30 as well as 1:32, like they do with their present products.

I have a special one for Normandy with no figures and it's quite fantastic. I don't think there is anything like it around, plus it's hard to beat the price (which I know I whined about :))

I have really been trying to fight off the urge to buy one of these. Confound it, I wish I hadn't looked at this thread. Now I'm going to have to go through my muskets and cap & ball revolvers to decide on what to sell so I can buy one of these.

Just received the Normandy 323 Tiger-I, and all I can say is this is the best piece that I own. The detail is beyond my wildest dreams, and although I have only seen the photo's of the HB Tigers, I would say these figarti Tigers are every bit as good, with the exception of customization, that comes with HB. However, the detailed interior is a feature that no tank in its class has, which makes this rare issue, a very unique tank that in its own way is a one of a kind issue. Best e-bay tank purchase that I have ever made. It is really a work of art that must be seen.

I have the 131 version. As Figarti itself has stated, in this hobby we're never likely to see a tank that can open up like this again. Likewise, the excellent exterior weathering w/ authentic zimmerit, track details, engine grills etc. are hard to beat. The price was a lot but as other manufacturer's prices rise every month it's increasingly looking like a better deal. Figarti was well ahead of the pack with this one.

Only 2 things prevented me from buying the winter Tiger

1) Lack of unit decal

2) Most importantly, the 1/32 size.:(

I end up buying the HB Tiger.

However if i have to choose between a HB Tiger and a 1/30 Figarti one, that will be very interesting!

I think the Figarti Tiger Tanks as well as The HB editions are by far and away the best available. I'm just not crazy about their tank crews. I am going to add some K&C German figures for the outside of the tank, because they just look better to me.

But are you 100% absolutely sure, I mean certain sure, completely sure, that they'll "go" together..?? There's not some wee obscure detail only apparent under a microscope, or some hair-splitter's opinion, that they won't, simply won't, just quite "go" together..??
I for one hope and pray that they do "go" together thus sparing those of us on this forum, who don't really mind a slight departure from complete and utter accuracy in their displays.

Cheers

Harrytheheid,

you sure rub it the wrong way, don't you?

Every collector has his own requirement and taste, and i respect, and am happy for you, that you are not too particular about inaccuracies with your collection.

Some, me included, do belong to the 'particular-type' who are more keen on factual, realism and accurate depiction in our hobbies.

I join this forum and enjoying it, as there are many knowledgeable and
experienced collectors, and (usually) good banter within this group of people.

I want to make sure before i purchase an item, that i clear all my doubts.

Living in Singapore, the 1/30th and 1/32 hobby group is almost non existent, and the forum is my only source to communicate, and humbly ask, the opinions and advice of my fellow hobbyists (such as yourself) regarding this wonderful hobby.

So i hope that you can give us the 'particular-type' of collectors some slack.

Sincerely,

Nasir Kasmani.

Let's all relax please. This Forum can accomodate all types of collectors.
