The latest release of products from K&C, the USMC sets are a fantastic addition to a stellar WWII lineup.

As this series develops, we are going to need to see some LVT-1's (and other USMC vehicles) to support the beach landings and help the Marines fight there way inland.

So Andy ... anything in mind?????

The old IWJ LVT is priced WAY out of sight on eBay, so a second release would be most appreciated and (I BELIEVE) greatly accepted.

Yeah saw the LVT 2, but was missing the gunner for the .50

Hi Larry,
I admire and appreciate your enthusiasm but we've still to release our first new Amtrak!!!
It might be a wee bit premature to forecast or predict the next vehicle release just yet but watch this space....You guys will read it first!
Best wishes, Andy.

Andy,

Was the one at the Show a prototype?

Brad

Evening Brad,
If you are referring to the LVT-1 that was in the Tarawa diorama, I believe that Andy said it was a very cleverly and skillfully painted old plastic BMC model.

Yes, I am getting ahead of myself .... :p ... but since you are still groggy from all the sleepless nights in Chicago, the endless boredom of plane travel and the incessant barrage of questions from folks like .. ME .. you might be open to suggestive manipulation. :rolleyes2:

Larry,

Yes, I was referring to that. Guess I missed that post about it being a BMC repaint. Wish I had that kind of skill.

I looked on eBay and they are available for about $10 - $15.
For that price, a bit of trial-and-error is not an expensive option.

The Amtrac in the little diorama I did the other day was a BMC one that painted up and added vision slits / hatches to, made from milliput and though a bit rough, it's all trial and error, it came out pretty well.

I'm considering getting another, the only thing I might do different is though I had a sprayed primer, the green was hand painted and a spray would of done a better job perhaps. Some black to the road wheels.
A wash of Khaki to tone it down and give it a bit of being used look and finally a few dabs of orange and red leather paint mixed together to give a few rust spots and then a spray of matt varnish. I still need to add some identifying number /letter.

At the moment I'm trying to do a better illusion of water than just a plastic water effect sheet, which is fine for rivers /
streams, doesn't cut it as waves hitting a beach, but as it's a first attempt at water effect for me, fingers crossed !

Steve
