Hello,

The old sets with the new painting style are beginning to show up, and I assigned them a new code so we don't get confused with the old ones.

Ana,

well done, truly magnificent repaints.

i'm glad i waited.

when will these become available?

and does the new painting style applies to the dioramas too.?

Nasir,

The sets are available, since they were already released. You'll probably order through your usual dealer and he or she will place the order with us. As these are not new sets, I don't think they'll be willing to carry stock of the sets they already stocked and sold. You'll probably have to preorder.

The dioramas have a different paint style, with more effects than the figures one. This new style of figure painting is not appliable to scenes.

Thanks,

Ana

I just talked to Ana. Even though most dealers will sell these on a pre-order basis, we at Treefrog are going to have them make some for us to have in stock. We expect them to be here in a couple weeks. We hope to get them on the website later today.

Now I have to upgrade! Anybody want the older GI set?

This is one of my favourite sets :)

Hate to dissent but had to say this: the older painting style looked much better, I just hate those black lines. To me there was no need to follow other brands styles. Then again, this is just my personal taste, and probably the market is mostly on the other side of the fence. What a pity...

It does look a little K&Cish. But, that is what sells. I like the style myself. I sometimes use that as a benchwork for myself. I am not a 20ish Asian female but I do the best I can. Nothing wrong with differing styles either. I would make my figures because I enjoy making them anyway. I like this style of painting for myself. Soooo nice work!

I'm not sold on black outlines either. For me it is especially distracting on light colors such as white.

I do like the shading and flesh tones better.

Actually what I like best on the new paint style are the flesh tones and German figures are regular army and NOT SS. However, the poses are fresh and great too!

from my perspective, i was delighted with the improved flesh tone.

but i agree, the black lines does looks a bit off.

maybe HB can tone down the black lines?

Sometimes I water down the black. Other times I use a grey black to underline. The underlining is important to make the figures stand out.

Ya, A grey might have worked better on the winter whites but in general I like the outline style.
