I've got some information about what's being released in England this year - are people interested ?^&confuse

yes please especially for us northerners living at the edges of civilisation up here in the remote hill country

Sorry, not being a tease but my computer died on me. This is my new laptop...
Firstly: Re WBritains bringing out new plastic ranges:
"It can be said that WBritains are looking at considering thinking about the possibility of sometime at some point in the future contemplating examining the feasibility of perhaps investigating the probable production of new plastic ranges"

I think that just about says it all for WBritains

Now POCKETBOND is going to put all the Timpo tooling bad in production. For the last few years they have been selling off what they had of the TOYWAY stock but now they are going to produce all of the existing ranges.

EMHAR are bringing out 1/35th WW1 US soldiers- 12 poses and once again they have announced the 54mm Saxon Warriors for release this year.
PAPO are doing their pirates in the 50mm Mini series.

Nothing from Airfix, although the WW2 Italians might see a release next year (hoo bloody rah)

That's what I know / heard

Word on the street is that Britains are indeed, very truly, most sincerly, considering some new plastic figures for next year. Something truly exciting. And an actual reality.

I wonder what Britains would do? Are there any movies that might generate interest in a particular era? The Hobbit, or related medievals at least might be worthwhile. Romans too seem to be going well at the moment.

Am I right to think Britains plastics are all painted?

Well...they'll probably get it totally wrong, show no imagination, make no consultation with people like the editors of PLASTIC WARRIOR,(Who, I think actually have some idea as to what plastic collectors would like to see) do it half heartedly and it'll be ACW.
I would not hold your breath!

Maybe Britains will re-issue the Worzel Gummidge toys. He's topical!

Nothing wrong if WBritains do ACW but only if they are copies of there metal ranges....if not dont bother!

Has ANYONE been approached, or spoken to by any offiicial Britains Rep, or Richard Walker about what new ranges/figures they would like to see in plastic ?
I always assume that there should be some sort of market research before any new product or range is put into production...

Perhaps we could all contact WBritains, or Mr Walker direct with suggestions of what we would like to see ?

I for one would like to see the following sets (four of which were never made by Britains)

1. Romans and Britons

2. Normans and Saxons

3. 1745 Highlanders and English

4. Pirates and Royal Navy

5. Waterloo

hmmm, no one appears interested:(

It may be less that people aren't interested but they don't agree with the choices you listed? For instance I only buy WW2 for myself and only a few other eras to work on conversions for some customers, so none of your suggesions are anything that I will purchase. Sorry.

Gary B.

PS - supposedly Britains had a LOT more poses sculpted for their WW2 "Normandy" range than were ever released in metal. No if they release THOSE in plastic I am so there.

That's exactly what I'm asking...what new ranges would OTHER plastic collectors like to see
New sets or more of the same ?
Let's have some suggestions....:(

I'm keen on pretty much all of those. Romans are being done by TSSD, so if I were Britains I'd leave that one. There's too much to cover with Waterloo, so I'd tip the others. Aside from some Replicants I don't think anyones ever done the '45 in plastic, so I think that'd be worthwhile.

Otherwise, yes WW2. Perhaps it's time to do British Commandoes again?

For WW2 we have decent plastic US and Germans. The Brits are still a bit weak. While working on some conversions recently I noticed that there aren't a lot of choices in British paratroopers in 54mm scale plastic. There is a LOT that can be done with them. Another weak area would be German fallschirmjaegers in 54mm plastic. They fought the US Army in Normandy and in the Bulge combat but there has not been much produced in plastic. More "winter" troops from all the armies would be quite useful. So even in WW2 plastics there are a number of subjects that are under represented.

Waterloo or WW2........Wbritains would want to get a decent return on cash injected into plastics!
If they are the same sculps as there metals they should sell well.
ps....I would rather wait and here anynews from Wbritains before i get to excited :rolleyes2:

Nice if it happens but I wouldn't count on new plastics .Unless things have changed dramatically .
