At the recent London Toy Soldier Show, we announced our latest range, the Memorial Range.
The Memorial Range will be an occasional range that will see between 2 and 5 releases per year only. Each of these will be a boxed set of figures relating to a single incident, regiment, battle or occasion, hence the name. Our fist set will be a 6 piece set, EM- 1501 The Royal Scots and will go on sale at the end of May, following an official launch with the Regimental Association and museum in Edinburgh.
This set will pay respect to the soldiers and civilians that met a terrible demise in what is still the worst railway disaster in the UK, the Quintinshill disaster. In essence, a troop train, carrying the men of 1/7th Leith Battalion, The Royal Scots, were all but wiped out in a terrible train crash on May 22nd 1915, 100 years ago to the day that we will launch the range. They were on their way to fight in Gallipoli but sadly never made it out of Scotland. Over 200 of them died, burnt to death with no chance of escape.
The images show the part ready paint masters that we had on show at the LTSS. The set will consist of: Lt Col Peebles, a RSM, a Major, a Serjeant, a Corporal and finally, an OR. As we get more up to date images I will post them up but, for now, as I had promised to update you all, here are a few tasters of what is to come.
Best regards,
Malcolm.
