The 5th Texas from Collectors Showcase is a splendid example of a specific unit being depicted in such extraordinary poses and positions. It should go without saying that on the heels of this rollout and the prior one of Mosby's Rangers/CSA Cavalry that if indeed a specified Union Cavalry unit is on the workbench that it is a unit that achieved success and noteriety in battle during the ACW. To that end I desire a specified Union Cavalry regiment that can combine Collector's Showcase incredible flair for realism and drama combined with a unit that made its mark in the history books. If I put my thoughts to it perhaps the 3rd New Jersey Cavalry aka the 1st US Hussars or "Butterflies" could be in production.Incredible uniforms and a most interesting battlefield resume. Maybe the hotly desired 6th Pennsylvania Cavalry aka Rush's Lancers that made an incredible charge at St. James Church adjacent to Fleetwood Hill during the epic June 1863 all cavalry battle at Brandy Station will be produced. Better yet a sprinkling of George Custer's rock solid Michigan Brigade comprised of the 1st,5th,6th and 7th Michigan Cavalry regiments could be crafted. All eastern theatre centric units but all worthy of a Collectors Showcase rendition. Heck I can openly lobby as I'm sure Britains will slant Confederate Cavalry in 2011 on the heels of their incredible dismounted Federal Cavalry rollouts this summer that have begun to hit the streets this month and Andy Nielsen just gave us a terrific batch of Union mounted troops in a recent K&C release. Matt at First Legion is busily trying to release his dismounted Fed's circa July 1863 with the Spencer Carbines and Blakeslee boxes (actually more suited for post Gettysburg but Matt gets a pass...his quality is just too good to nit pick). So Collectors Showcase can fill the percieved void and with it can hit a home run. No bunts or singles on this one I want a shot parked over the fence!
