M4A1 Hedgerow Cutter

During the Normandy campaign, the French coastal hedgerows or “bocage” presented a substantial obstacle to Allied tanks. Tanks pushing over the top of these hedgerows exposed their vulnerable ½ inch belly armour to German anti-tank weapons. American ingenuity solved this problem when Sergeant Curtis G. Culin designed and supervised the construction of a hedgerow cutting device made from scrap iron pulled from German obstacles littering the Normandy beaches. This allowed tanks to plow through the hedgerows while being protected by frontal armour. Adding to its growing line of Sherman tank variants, Figarti Miniatures introduces its “M4A1 Hedgerow Cutter” (Item # ETA-022) with a single tank commander figurine. The Figarti M4A1 Hedgerow Cutter has many of the distinctive features of a M4A1 tank, including the rounded edges of a fully cast upper hull, armoured engine air inlet cover behind turret, protruding square muffler tailpipes, twin air cleaners, and
twin engine access doors. Only 100 sets of this livery will be produced. Retail $179. Shipped out 2 weeks ago, will arrive your dealer end of this month/beginning of December.

That machine is the ultimate LAWN MOWER! Those blades are mean looking. Another awesome piece from Figarti. Keep up the great work.

Cheers

RICK....What can a guy say they are all superb looking models. Thankyou for your great effort.

Looks very nice - the M4A1 is a nice visual change from the M4 that you used on the previous models. That's one mean looking hedgerow cutter! There were several different designs and this one looks like it could take on the bocage.

Only complaint - I'm going broke from getting all the Figarti US stuff. This one is on my "want list" now.

Rick:

"You've come a long way baby!" With all the new releases, I may have to postpone Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebrations. Need to get a second mortgage soon or I'll miss out on these. Keep em' coming.

Some models to die for and need to get before I go bankrupt...oh yes, I have the LCT on my sight for 2010:

1. Dodge WC-63
2. M2 Halftrack Mortar Carrier ( not the M21)
3. Dodge WC-54 Ambulance (another version of this was used the the Signal Corps as communication vehicle)

Numbers 1 and 3 especially would be terrific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kept having a feeling that I had seen this tank before, and I finally figured it out. It is the cover tank for Squadron/Signals Publications "Sherman in Action" book.
