Good morning from a very cold and freezing San Francisco Bay Area, where the Alaskans have decided to send us some of their weather.
Before we begin with some terrific new year releases, John and all of us at Sierra Toy Soldier Company wish you a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year, and we hope you find a box of Jenkins under your tree.
This is a two part announcement, because of space constraints, Part One features the new Collectors Club Membership Figures for 2013 and Part Two the terrific new releases for 2013! Hope you like them.
We have some new Collectors Club Membership Figures for 2013, which will include John’s calendar and his 2012 annual, for Jenkins collectors this not to be missed. Plus the start of a brand news series that John has been asked for many times, American Civil War with a his own twist on it and lots more.
We should have these on the web site this morning. As always we hope you enjoy these new releases as much as I do.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Mike

JJ DESIGNS COLLECTORS’ CLUB 2013 MEMBERSHIP SETS
For the first time, for the Collectors Club Membership, a completely fictitious character!
However since the 28th Regiment of foot will now be retired, it seemed appropriate to announce the release of a new British Regiment for the French and Indian War, with a Collector Club figure.
Coming in 2013,(starting in April) for the Siege of Quebec Series, the British 35th Regiment of Foot.
As with both previous regiments, all the figures for the new sets will be in similar poses. The 35th Regiment of foot will all be produced in marching poses, moving into position on the British right flank on the Plains of Abraham…. Or for those interested in a series based on Fort William Henry, withdrawing from the fort… about to be ambushed by woodland Indians!

The Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own) was an infantry rifle regiment of the British Army, formed in 1800 to provide sharpshooters, scouts and skirmishers. They later became the 95th Regiment of foot. The brigade was distinguished by its use of green uniforms as standard in place of the traditional red—the first regular infantry corps in the British Army to do so.
John Jenkins was a Captain in the 2nd Battalion of the 95th Rifles, and saw much action, during the Peninsula War. During the Battle of Vittoria, Jenkins was fatally wounded during the attack on the village of Hernandad. He was to die of these wounds four weeks later

Captain William Stanley Jenkins was a Canadian Ace during World War I. He was officially credited with 12 aerial victories, having scored his first two while still on sick leave.
Jenkins used his Sopwith Camel to destroy a German Albatros D.V fighter on 27 May 1918. On 6 June, he teamed with fellow Canadian John Gerald Manuel to destroy an enemy reconnaissance two-seater plane over Doulieu. It appears that while Jenkins was still technically convalescent, he was not too ill to fight. He would not be discharged from hospital until 2 August 1918.
He then ran off a string of eight consecutive triumphs over German fighters during August, September, and October. On 3 October, he was injured; he returned to duty on the 14th. The day before the Armistice, 10 November 1918, he destroyed a DFW C.V reconnaissance plane and a Fokker D.VII. Jenkins thus ended his war with a tally of two Fokker D.VIIs set afire in flight, five other German fighters destroyed, two German recon planes destroyed, and three enemy planes driven down out of control. He had twice won the Distinguished Flying Cross for his valor.
