Good Morning all from Northern California.

Late last night we finished setting up 2 large American Civil War displays in the front windows of our store, in advance of Richard Walkers visit from Britain’s. We hope to have photos available later this week. We will complete a third display later on today. So I hope you will have a chance to stop by and have a look, many of the artifacts we have as part of the display are authentic. So what has this to do with Jenkins, well the same displays we are using have been designed so they can be used for a French and Indians Wars display we have planned for July? So if anyone has artifacts of the French and Indian Wars they would be interested in displaying / sharing for a couple of months, please let us know.

Now for the latest news.

Small as compared to some other manufactures, but deadly. Because there is not a single item you will not want to collect. I am so glad he revisited Monongahela, and the Jacobite releases are outstanding. Battle of Chippewa if you have not looked at it for a while is a superb release that represents a very neglected piece of American History (in my opinion), the figures, artillery, scenery etc that can go into a display make this a great collectors edition.

As always hope you enjoy. Should have them on the web site later this morning.

Best regards

Mike

RETURN TO MONONGAHELA
THE BATTLE ON THE MONONGAHELA 1755

Of the 1,300 men Braddock led into battle, 456 were killed outright and 422 were reported wounded.
Commissioned officers were prime targets and suffered greatly: out of 86 officers, 26 were killed and 37 wounded.
Of the 50 or so women that accompanied the British column as maid, cooks and necessary women only 4 returned with the British—with around half being taken as captives.
The French reported very few casualties.

THE JACOBITE REBELLION 1745
Barrell’s was one of the few regiments to see off their attackers at Falkirk, which meant they were more prepared to face the Highland onslaught than many other regiments. It is also reported that the sight of the attacking Highlanders stumbling and tripping over each other in the marshy terrain, helped the redcoats to suppress any immediate panic.
Cumberland’s own official account of the battle pays tribute to the 4th Regiment of foot.
“That general Barrell’s regiment gained the greatest reputation imaginable”

This month sees the release of the fourth hand to hand set.

THE BATTLE OF CHIPPEWA July 5th 1814
The clash of infantry against infantry was the most important aspect of Napoleonic battles.
The technological advances of the period had made the artillery the most powerful arm in battle.
The main part of the weapon was the gun, basically an elongated metal cylinder open at the muzzle end. A charge of powder and a projectile were loaded into the hollow centre or bore of the gun, and when the charge was ignited the resulting explosion propelled the projectile out the muzzle toward the target.
Guns were designated by the weight of the round shot they fired. The most common and useful gun in the War of 1812 was the 6-pdr.
The 6pdr round shot had a fearsome effect. At 600-700 yards under optimum conditions, it could cut through nineteen men or seven feet of earth.

Really nice stuff! Really love wounded set for BOM. Fantastic sculpts.

The Jacobites are a must have as always, otherwise a catch-up month. I can use it.:D -- Al

Even though I sold off all my B of M's...I will still collect the British Line figures...they will make a good small diorama or a fort defense...

the Jacobite offering is a beautifully posed set...probably the best hand to hand sculpts yet...desperately needing more Highlanders...this is a must have for me...

my favorite release...the British Foot Artillery crew...I'm really pleased that the release states that John has more figures (There will be extra sets that can be added to this first set, including figures loading and aiming the guns.) planned to join these guys...I'm currently building a new very big 7x4 foot diorama for my USCH's with a huge artillery battery and battlefield...

Ensign Durantaye, and Cadet Richelieu are a welcome addition and I'm glad some more Snow Shoe's sets will be released in the future as Collector's sets...

this is a great months of releases for me...

all in all...a smaller amount of releases than usual...a good opportunity for me to catch up on some duplicates...

Lovely stuff !! Whats the BAL-05 ? Love these hand to hand Jacobite sets!!

I spent several hours setting up the figures on the Culp's Hill display. There were a lot of figures. Hopefully Andrew has posted the pictures here somewhere.:D
