THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR

Please note these sets will now be available from all dealers.

The full dress for enlisted Marines consisted of a dark blue, double breasted frock coat, with two rows of Marine buttons. The high standing collar bore 2 loops of yellow worsted lace, with a small Marine button at the end of each. The collar was edged all around with scarlet trim. The two loop cuff flaps, and pockets in the rear skirts were also trimmed with scarlet. Brass epaulettes were fixed to each shoulder. Sky blue trousers were worn in cold weather, and white linen in summer.
Headgear was a dark blue cap patterned after the French Kepi.

These are really sharp looking figures. Nice unis. -- Al

They are nice figures but, unfortunately, don't fit in with the other Civil War figures I collect and I don't know what John has in mind for these figures; where is this going?

Same thoughts here, Brad.

John's initial Civil War release gave me a bit of hope that he would delve deeper in the US Civil War; hopefully going onto a track that other manufactures have not ventured. I was looking (hoping) for a soldiers CW camp life, building fortifications, non-combat poses and other areas like these. I was also hoping for a hint of Confederate figures in the future.

But, like the "Old Yangshuo" series, it appears to be struggling to find its identity.

Larry,

I initially thought that since Marines were being made, a river craft might follow as Mississippi Marines (a Union outfit) served on rivercraft. However, John has given no indication of that and these figures are issued so sparsely that it just leaves me confused as to what he has in mind.
