Hi Everyone,

Please see the attached pictures of the paint masters for our next releases due out in April. We will have the pre production at the March LTSS for sure and hopefully the actual stock too, fingers crossed.

Be very interested in your comments as always. being the new kids on the block, your opinion really do help.

best wishes,

Malcolm. :salute::

Malcolm,

They look quite nice. Are they compatible with other company's matte figures. I recognize the Belgian troops but pardon my ignorance what are the other troops.

Dear Malcolm

Nice figures. As a professional painter I think the ECW guys caps are crying out for a wash to pick out the seams. As that is what makes the figs special it would make a better feature of them, in my humble opionion.

Hope this helps

A very nice crop of releases Malcolm. Your figures have a unique style and character of their own.

The Belgian Machine Gun Crew is quite a ground breaking release in my eyes.............. Great to see an allied Maxim at last -well done!

Any hints as to when your British 1914 releases will be approaching the front? (!)

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the comment, we are gaining collectors by the day who are committing already to future releases! Makes me very happy to see our ranges being accepted by fellow collectors.

The WW1 figures are indeed Belgian. 10th Line Infantry have been our initial focus and now we are moving on with the Carabiniers for the Maxim set. This regiment was pivotal in the fighting at Louvain and then all the way through to the Iser, the only area of Belgium that was held for the duration of the great war.

The other figures are from our English Civil War range. Unlike K&C, we are concentrating on one battle and not trying to cover the entire 9 year wars. Our range is set around Marston Moor, 1644. We have already released some cavalry pieces that depict Oliver Cromwell and his Eastern Association cavalry and some foot figures in the colours of Prince Rupert. The musketeers in the images are from Lord Byron's regiment and carry slightly different equipment to what many people would expect. I give a full explanation on our Facebook site if you are interested. https://www.facebook.com/empiremilitaryminiatures All of our releases can be seen at www.empiremm.co.uk

Scale wise, I could talk for hours about :) But to help, I have attached some images I took last week after purchasing my latest K&C pieces for the ECW. We are in between Britains and K&C scale wise and work well with both companies.

I hope that helps? Feel free to mail me if you wish, always happy to talk with and help fellow hobbyists. malcolm@empiremm.co.uk

Cheers,

Hi Roy,

Many thanks indeed, we are very pleased with what we are creating but it is always nice to hear from fellow collectors.

I am very pleased you see the Maxim crew as a ground breaking release, it was intended to be just that! The Maxim was the staple MG of the Belgians and the BEF in the first stages of WW1 and indeed, it would have been a Maxim that was used at Mons and not the Vickers that always appears in paintings / prints.

The BEF are in training at the moment :) The first master sculpts have just been completed and the next 2 sets are due for sculpting being complete by the middle of March. Our first paint masters may make it to the LTSS in March but I think it will be Early May when the first figures are available, with more to follow in June and July.

One thing you can be sure of. I will be keeping treefrog posted with developments {sm4}

Thanks again and best wishes,

Malcolm. :salute::

Thanks Bruce,

Always difficult, in fact, impossible to get it right for everyone ^&grin Like every company, we have to balance cost with re sell price / margin. Our master painter does a pretty good job overall I feel and we have to book time with him as it is his profession and more time = higher costs... It was my aim to sit these between W Britain, First Legion and K&C in terms of price and quality.

That all said, I have taken the comment on board and will chat with him about it, so a genuine thanks for being honest with me.

Mind you, there is nothing wrong with a bit of amending being done to a purchase also I think. I know I have done this with some figures in the past :)

best wishes,

Malcolm.
