Hi Folks,

We are very pleased to announce that we now have two exclusive retailers for our range here in the UK. Both of these are very well respected and prestigious toy soldier retails. Having them on board not only adds kudos to the brand but enables collectors to inspect and consider our figures in person via these two retailers.

Our London retailer is The Armoury of St James in Piccadilly Arcade and our National retailer is Magpie (Manchester House) in Evesham.

Both shops will carry our full ranges and have our full support so, if you are in the midlands or our capital and have the time, why not pay one of them a visit.

Massive and heartfelt thanks go to the owners/managers & staff of both shops. To have them on board genuinely does mean a lot to us here at Empire.

Best regards,

Malcolm. :salute::

Great to see you are expanding your company! Hopefully someday, you will be able to add a Canadian dealer!
Cheers,
Brendan

Well, knock me down with a feather..................... Out on my own doing a little Mothers Day shopping today and as I was walking past our local Model store ( Harlow ,Essex), what do I see in the front window?

Couldn't believe it - it must be a sign...................

Cheers,

Roy

It is indeed a sign Roy. It is futile to resist the temptation and lure {sm4}

On a serious note, now that you have seen our range in the flesh, what is your opinion please. Are they as good as the photos, are they what you expected, good value for money etc, I really would genuinely like to know, from one collector to another if you like.

Best regards,

Malcolm. :salute::

I'm a great believer in serendipity Malcolm and rooting for the "little guy" (being one myself of course!)

I have followed your progress with great interest - new small company - (English based!!) knowledgeable about the historical details - and supplying collectors with something a little different.

To be honest the only reason I have not given in to the temptation and lure (yet!) is - purely lack of funds. With prices rising all the time I'm finding it increasingly difficult to juggle all of my collecting interests.

I must say though that I will HAVE to find room for your forthcoming 1914 Brits. Something I've always waited for (done properly....) - I will be "in" for all of them (plenty to come I hope!)

As for seeing your range "in the flesh" I must first say they actually they look much better "in the flesh" than the photos. Some toy soldiers seem to photograph better close up, some come across better seen with the naked eye.
Yours are I feel are definitely the latter. I think it's possibly a scale thing?

The two musketeers have a very "antique" look, almost as if taken out of a contemporary engraving - bags of character and as you've said before a more muddied battle finish to them than others. The Belgian Officer is a lovely figure with some very nicely painted braiding. The Cavalry are also excellent - another ground breaker I believe! As for price - I think they are possibly a little on the higher side (only in my opinion) - but taking into account they are all limited editions of 100 and the rarity of the subjects I guess I can't really carp too much!

All in all I'd say you are doing a wonderful job and I will be on board as soon as the Brits arrive!

Cheers,

Roy

Thanks Roy, glad you did not take my banter too seriously.

Thanks for the genuine comments and opinion, it is genuinely very much appreciated. I do indeed understand your comment re the price point, this was possibly the hardest thing to decide upon (after all business decisions had been taken of course).

For the low quantity produced, we are having to pay quite a premium. Knowing that we would have to pass on the cost, I decided that one way of adding some extra value and benefit to collectors was to issue numbered certificates. Our master painter again costs us a good penny but, the balance side of that I feel is the quality of the paint on the final releases. All in all it is a tough one. I hope that gives some kind of insight / explanation.

The pleasing thing though is to hear that you are joining the ranks for the 1914 BEF releases, thank you for that. I can assure you that you have a lot to look forward to from us this year, and next of course! If you are coming to the LTSS come and say hi, please.

Best regards,

Malcolm. :salute::
