My cable TV provider, Comcast, has added a new (rather, converted) channel that shows classic old shows. It is called MeTV. Hasn't completely shaken out a consistent schedule but it is running many old westerns, comedies, and dramas. Most significantly, for me, it is running 'Combat' and 'Twelve o'Clock High'. Other shows include 'Kojak', 'Hawaii 5-O', 'The Rebel', 'Star Trek', and tons of other 60's era shows. The only downside, so far, is that Combat and 12 o'clock are running at the impossible hours of 3 and 4 am, respectively. Hopefully that will change at some point. -- Al

We've had METv for a while here on Staten Island, NY. We also have Cozi and Antenna TV. Between the 3 channels, Roy Rogers, Hoppalong Cassidy, Daniel Boone, etc. are making a big comeback when I watch. Most nights I can't sleep, so Combat and 12 O'Clock High are God sends.....

MeTV is pretty cool. I really like the recent proliferation of retro programming. Right now, on the Comcast system, I can find Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and a couple of other westerns, on 3 different stations, at all different hours. We also have Cozi and Antenna, so it is almost impossible to be without something to watch, even if it is in black and white.^&grin -- Al

With the transition to digital TV many broadcasters can now multicast more than one channel. So a lot of these old shows are coming back on the extra channels. They are cheap to air and lots of people like them. I get a kick out of some of the 70's shows like Adam-12 and Emergency. They don't make them like that anymore.

I quite agree. I enjoy the heck out of Adam-12, Dragnet, and Emergency. ^&cool -- Al

Service Electric or RCN have had it for a while now, too. In fact, I thought at first that the channel originated with one of the local broadcasting companies, but I don't think so. Yes, it is a good mix, especially since the one Nickelodeon channel that was showing classic shows had a bad habit of running a series once or twice, then taking it off the schedule.

Prost!
