The two most recent manufacturers of 1/30 scale Toy soldiers have released very detailed Stug III's in the last two years. These models have been very well received by collectors and both models offer new features, innovations and materials. They also are a new scale !/28. A Stug III is 2950 MM wide the new models are both 105 MM wide +/- 1MM. 2950/105=28.095. The same manufacturers have subsequently introduced tanks that are also approximately 1/28 scale which becomes obvious when set side by side with true 1/30 scale vehicles! Why has this scale growth happened:confused:

!/30 scale slowly evolved from 1/32 scale by a gradual increase in figure size over time as some manufacturers styles evolved. Vehicles also increased in size to match the figures. New manufacturers introduced new products to match the larger scale which was poorly defined and has continued to grow; now approaching 1/28 scale or 65MM figure height. The question is when and where will the scale growth stabilize? The problem for collectors is one of having to repeatedly upgrade collections; an expensive and unnecessary process. Definition and standardization between manufacturers is needed!:D
