Hello all,
I am attempting to start a terrain company and hope to get some feedback on the piece I already have, as well as to take any requests for some terrain that you want to see made in high-resin foam (think formtech). I deal primarily with Napoleonic/Age of Gunpowder but feel free to give me some ideas from other eras.
1st Fleche from Battle of Borodino:
painted fleche.jpg

The Second fleche is not done yet but will have two cannon emplacements, one on each side. Should I add a third in the center like in the 1st fleche?

The Third Fleche will have 3 cannons.
Option 1: 3 cannons on one side with a long parapet for infantry
Option 2: 2 cannons on one side with one on the other

Please give me any feedback on the pieces I have and will make, as well as any requests you all may have!

Thanks!

Definitely interested in the two or three cannon fletch.....

Yea I figured people would be more inclined to buy a larger fleche. I hope to get three out so people can set em up like they were at the battle/extensive siege works, etc.

Eventually, I want to make a huge redoubt and palisade with 4 cannons. I have built one but I am not entirely happy with it so I may start from scratch and knock up a new one. ESPECIALLY the palisade. I want more of a "hastily built" feel to it.

Here is the original. Ruler for scale. (It is enormous)

Those look pretty awesome! Any idea what sort of prices you might sell them at?

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

Curious what size artillery piece fits into the slot......have you placed any particular piece and brand into their positions?

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

Well, AIP, BMC cannons fit, I'm pretty sure Marx fits. I'm pretty sure any 54mm cannon should but I can check and see tomorrow for sure.

The price for the fleche will be between 30-35 fully painted. Price is negotiable as of now. Toy soldier company thinks they can sell for 40 but I think that may be too high. Since I don't have any out to distributors right now, I am willing to trade/negotiate price and even do some custom paint jobs. The redoubt and palisade together would go for 70-80 fully painted. I'm not 100% about that because I haven't made it yet so I have to determine cost before I give a for certain answer.

Gary, how would you want the trenches to be different from the trenches already on the market? I'd definitely be willing to try some out!

Any other suggestions or questions are welcome!

Here are some better pictures of the "small fleche." Hope to have the second fleche with two to three cannons done in the next couple of weeks. I'll post when it is done.

Very nice! How about some WWII terrains? I'm sure the forum members have some great ideas. Bill

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

How about WW2 Eastern Front trenches?

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

Well, Gentlemen, what kinds of ww2 terrain? Buildings? Defense works?

Also, how would you want eastern front trenches to be different than the other trenches they have on the market, ExRanger? Sandbags, gabions? Stalindgrad/leningrad/pretty much any Soviet City rubble trenches?

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

Hello.
Regarding WW2 trenches, sandbags or woodbeams would be great or a combo of both. Stalingrad related would be great.... Plus they would fit into any of the Eastern front battles prior to or after Stalingrad. Rubble trenches would be great. Yes, on Russian city trenches as well. Open command or observation trenches would fit as well. They would be useful for the latest release by K&C with their German Grey General observation Soldiers release.

I came across this piece in I believe 20mm scale. This would look great in 1/30th scale which I don't believe has been done.

These would work well. They seem to have been done in 15mm scale. Not finding these in 1/30th scale.
I'm sure you could put your own personal touch on them to make yours a unique piece.

We could use a European Church like Conte's, maybe not as big. An Italian Farmhouse like in the movie "To Hell and Back", with seperate rooms and a removable roof so you can put guys inside. Battle damaged French town buildings.

Yes! I have been tinkering around with some ideas for a small village Church. It is versatile and can range anywhere from age of gunpowder onward. Debating on whether to include a small plot of land to include graves? maybe a small knoll?

I have also been throwing ideas around for French/German/italian village/town buildings for the Napoleonic Wars. Maybe I can come up with some for WW2 that are a bit more damaged.
I've made some buildings out of foamboard and I like to have lots of rooms so I can have room to room, floor to floor gunfights raging. However, before I come up with any that have windows and removable roofs, I have to figure out how to cast something like that, or find someone who can cast for me. I'm new to casting and have much to learn.

I haven't seen "To Hell and Back" and wasn't able to find a picture of the farmhouse so if you have any pictures of it, however unlikely that may be, please post it. ^&grin

A small Church with a graveyard would be cool.
You can go to YOUTUBE on the internet and do a search for "To Hell and Back". There is a trailer for the movie that shows some scenes of the Italian farmhouse. That is the best I could do for now.

Definitely on board for these. A European church with space for soldiers to fight in or maybe a MG place would be great. Doesn't have to be tall but length would fit well for soldiers firing.

Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

Nice work! I suggest you come up with smaller pieces that can be added as well to enable the collectors to personalize their dioramas some more. Maybe some small sandbag groupings, brick rubbles, Wood, stone, brick fence sections much like what Lemax is selling. For world war one, world war 2, maybe some barbed wire fences, bunkers, half buried damaged tanks, guard houses with barricade gates, D-day tank traps. Burned chassis of cars like scwhimwagens, volkswagen beetles, US army trucks, ruined cannons. Just some ideas that come to mind.
