I Recently Purchased My First Honour Bound Piece. It Was The Barkmann's Panther. It Was A Beautiful Piece But A Couple Of Things Bothered Me. I Pay A Lot Of Attention To The Small Details On The Pieces I Buy. One Thing On The Hounour Bound Tank Was That One Of The Rings On The Top Of The Tank Was Completely Filled In With A Mold Flaw. I Have Bought A Lot Of K&c Pieces In The Past And Have Never Seen Anything Like This. Is This Just An Inevitable Part Of The Way These Pieces Are Cast Or Was This Just A Fluke? I Like Some Of The Variety I See In The Honour Pieces I Have Looked At On The Web, But For $190 I Pretty Much Expect A Flawless Piece.

are you referring to the hook rings on the turret (closer to the gun)?

Yes, The Hook Rings On The Turret. It Was Just One Of The Rings, But Really Obvious Because Of The Location.

if you're talking about the 2 half-circle hook rings, hate to say it must be a flaw. i have all 3 of the panthers, and none of them are filled in....

Mine are okay, they are not filled in. See if you could slightly push the filled in part with a toothpick. It might just be a thin coat of paint that oozed.

Thanks for all the input. I have ordered another Panther from Sagers. I really like the tanks and will give it another try. May even buy one of the Winter Panthers. The vehicles are excellent in detail but don't really like their figures.
But could someone break down the reason for the cost difference between these tanks and a King and Country.

PS I am really impressed with all the info from other collectors. I am new to metal toy soldiers and appreciate all the help I am getting.

Saw the HB damaged Panther at the London show - I have to apologise for my earlier post as it is actually very good and looks much better than the photos. However still feel it would have looked better without the mud stuck to the tracks! I also really liked the US swim jeep as well - excellent model guys and once again the photos do not do it justice!
Keep up the excellent work!

I love their Amphib Jeep, really cool.Did you feel the weight of it?.A really well made model, its on my list.

That list must be pretty long by now Rob! :)

I agree though the amphibious jeep looked far better in real life than in the pictures. Kind of expensive but top quality.

Its slightly shorter than War and Peace!

Rob, look in the diorama section........and the prices are competitive.....you know you want to ;) LOL :D

All the Normandy two tone (Brown/green) Sherman sets went at the show and interest was growing all round, like James said, better in the flesh. BTW, how is the back after the missus finished with you last time!

I'm just about recovered mate;)!.I do like the new Shermans, its so difficult to know where to spend my limited defence budget. But i am going to get an amphib jeep at some point,i think they are an unusual and excellant vehicle.

It's a Golden Age if you are interested in WW2 history Rob. We are absolutely spoilt for choice on what to get accross many different mediums.
If only we had more money, but i guess that's half the fun choosing what to get and spending wisely.
If we were able to afford absolutely everything the fun factor would fade quickly (but it might be nice to give it a try to test the theory) :)

Absolutely mate, and being spoilt for choice is in a way good for the hobby. If the makers of toy soldiers know we are tempted by lots of companies they are going to strive to attract our attention. And you are right on the money front too,it would be great to win the lotto but then we'd buy it all in one go.The picking and choosing of what to buy is a big part of collecting, even if we do moan about it sometimes!;)
