I remember someone mentioned in an earlier post that Andy had plans for doing another Wittman in the Tiger he was killed in. Does anyone know when we might see this.

News to me. Isn't the one Andy is planning to retire "his last Tiger"?

The Tiger 1 he was killed in was Ws-43 the 007 track. Will you see another Whitman? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

There is another Wittman Tiger on the way, the one he used to destroy the British armored collumn at Villers Bocage. As to when, I expect, knowing Andy, that it will come out in time for Christmas.

That's an interesting revelation Louis. I wonder if he plans to issue any troops, tanks (Cromwells, Firefly, Honeys), etc. involved in that battle. That's one of the fascinating episodes in early June of 1944. I visited that town and stayed there. Lovely little town, although of course rebuilt from the ground up. An interesting book dedicated to that episode is Villers-Bocage Normandy 1944 by Henri Marie from Heimdal Publishers. If anybody plans to go Normandy, I can recommend a B and B in Villers-Bocage where we stayed.

I must say the new planned Wittman tank doesn't really excit me. With other paint schemes already made which appear similar to Wittman's Villers Bocage tank, I would have preferred something a bit different. If the intent was to do another Wittman tank, I would have liked to have seen one with winter whitewash.

I agree on the winter scheme. I don't think we have enough of that available. I for one love the winter items.

Poll on preferred Tiger?

Or should we be lobbying instead for more Mk IIIs and IVs?

I know people will say that the MK II was produced as WS41 with 2 Wehrmacht soldiers and that there'd be no point in producing an early War infantry support vehicle like that in other versions. Similarly people will grumble and say that the Mk IV has been produced as a short-barrelled WS26 and as a long-barrelled AK23, and that it's enough. But for me I'd really like to see plenty of versions of the workhorses that saw greatest service, not to mention the fact that it's easier to produce a number of small vignettes with the medium tanks, as the Panthers and Tigers tend to dwarf everything and are only really deployable in large dioramas.

Even then, it's still a little lopsided: there's so much German armour relative to Allied stuff it'll feel better only when there are a few more armoured cars, artillery pieces and other counterparts.

I won't say no to a new Tiger though, but I'd love to see a few more medium tanks for the Normandy, Ardennes, Eastern Front and other theatres.

One question I have is was there a real difference between the current Wittman Tiger 007 and the one at Villers Bocage? I would think the camouflage would have been the same. Does anybody know the answer?

I'm not sure what kind of Tiger Wittman had at Falaise when he met his end from several Canadian Shermans but the book I referred to earlier says that at Villers the 101st Battalion has PzKpfW VI tanks aka Tiger tanks.

I am sick of both (1) Tigers and (2) Wittman Tigers. I agree with all of your comments about other German and Allied vehicles. The truth of the matter, however, is that Andy is a business man, and he knows that Tigers (and Shermans) sell like hotcakes. So expect more Tigers and Shermans than you know what to do with. Just on the Wittman issue, from reading the excellent book "Panzer Aces" if is my understanding that the vast majority of Wittman's kills came on the Eastern front in a StuG III. So how about a StuG III in eastern front markings with enough kill rings to make the gun barrell look like a barber's pole? Now that would be interesting. There was another big panzer ace who got most of his kills on the Eastern front in a Nashorn. How about doing a series on these other panzer aces in the vehicles they got most of their kills in? The Tiger, while certainly the most famous Nazi tank, was also one of the least common. I feel like I certainly have enough.

I could go for a whitewashed Tiger but, I really need some small vehicles though. It is hard to find display space for the large tanks. I really need a Kettenkraftrad, Krupp Protze, Opel Blitz, RSO tractor, Schwimmwagen, 250 halftrack....
