Hi TG, any update on the release of the Newcastle Mounted Rifle Figure / s. I recall sometime last year you informed us there is something in the pipeline. Would love to see a few and a Border Buffalo Guard or two to add yo Durnfords Column.

PS just got my mounted and foot 24th Foot officers and they are fantastic.
Thank you TG

how about properly representing Durfords command by adding in the under represented in matt figures - the Natal native horse in its various units and the only British regular mounted troops until the later period of the war the Imperial mounted infantry
both the aforementioned were with Chelmsfords number 3 column , fighting at Isandlwana etc

Good to hear all of that and agree with my mate Typhoon, Durnfords bunch of troopers are under represented. I dont understand why as they add a wealth of colour and variety to a war i love collecting and learning about but has been heavily done.
Buffalo Border Guard
Newcastle Rifles
Natal Carbineers, a few makers have broached them
Natal Mounted Police, again as above
Natal Native Horse
Imperial Mounted Infantry.
There may have been other units….. can anyone chime in?
cant wait to see the Newcastle Boys and anything else unique.
i remain a devoted fan of TG

Hi there Jason

Fully agree there were many more small colonial mounted units serving in the other two invasion column and assigned to protect the Natal side of the border ( Natal Hussars etc )

I always hoped that John Jenkins or TG or King and country would bite the bullet and focus a range of figures away from the ever popular Rorkes drift and Isandlwana by say concentrating on Wood and Bullers column at the Battles of Hlobane mountain or Kambula, great character figures could be modelled in including Woood and Buller themselves , Piet Uys and his Boer volunteers , Natal native horse plus there colonial officer personalities and NCOs etc , Transval rangers , 80th Regiment , the 5 winners of the Victoria Cross and of course the Frontier light horse .

maybe John Jenkins will come to our rescue to focus on the forgotten part of the Zulu war ( unless you collect 28mm as these units are well served in this scale by Empress and Perry to name a few)

I too remain a devoted collector of TG
