We just saw it. Everyone relax. It's pretty good and there's little to offend the religious. Maybe 10 minutes long. Two strong female characters plus Crowe and Hopkins are always awesome.

You can always watch an early Disney version http://youtu.be/7705npED4vk

The reviews I read were rather critical. Not one I will be going to see.

Yeah, Medved panned it in his review segment yesterday. He described it as "Noah as an action hero". Some of the subplots also seemed contrived. Not one that really interests me.

Prost!

Well, the critics should have loved Noah then. He's an environmentalist, a vegetarian, and hates
his dysfunctional family.

I don't listen to critics either, but will this time.

[SUP]Environmentalist....

"20 [/SUP]And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: " KJB

Hates his dysfunctional family? Not in the movie I saw. The issues with his son Ham are expanded upon from just the the wine drinking incident.

[SUP]"22 [/SUP]And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.." KJB

Ham was cursed after that and the story was used to explain slavery in the world. That character is the only dysfunctional member of the family in the film.

W/o giving any spoilers, the character of Noah spares his granddaughters from sacrifice out of love even when he believes that "the creator" wants all humans to die out and just the animals saved.

The Genesis account is pretty sparse to draw a full movie length story from. Much of the back story in the film is dawn from the story of Noah's grandfather Methuselah and allusions to the Garden of Eden.
