From what I've read it's thought that it held a handful of lighter throwing spears.

Agree with you Robin, but it is what it is and remains so for the next lot of Auxiliary Cavalry hopefully due soon as they are on my wants list !

Even today Poppo with Maps, Compasses, SatNav people still find themselves disorientated and going in the wrong direction and having to correct themselves, with none of those things I expect they found themselves doing it more often !:wink2:
