That's all for this month and for the year guys, more to follow in 2019. Thank you for all your support and we would like to take the opportunity to wish you a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
WOW227: The Nakajima B5N Kate was a 3 man crewed torpedo bomber operated by the Japanese navy during WW2.
Although faster and more capable then its Allied counterparts, the US Devastator and the British Swordfish, the Kate was already entering obsolescence as Japan entered the war in 1941. However a suitable replacement the B6 Jill entered service too late to fully replace the Kate and like many Japanese aircraft of the time, the Kate simply soldiered on until the Japanese surrender in August 1945. The B5 Kate saw considerable success during the early part of the war, particularly at Pearl Harbour, Battle of the Coral sea and Midway.
Our 1/30 scale Kate comes with a full interior and is decked out in an attractive mottled colour scheme. This model has a wingspan of approx 49.5cm and is nearly 34cm long.
We have 5 x Kate's available priced at $999 plus postage, each one comes with free Carrier deck mat as per the attached pictures.

WOW229: The Me 262 was the worlds first operational jet powered fighter aircraft to see active service. Design work began before WW2 but problems with the engines and political interference kept the aircraft out of operational status until 1944. The Me 262 was faster and more heavily armed than its British counterpart the Gloster Meteor and was one of the most advanced designs of its time. The Me 262's roles also included light bomber, reconnaissance and night fighter variants. The Allied most effective response to the Me 262 was to attack it whilst it was landing or taking off. By the end of the war with limited fuel and resources available to the Luftwaffe, the Me 262 was a case of too little too late to change the inevitable outcome for the 3rd Reich.
Our newest 1/30 scale Me 262 is the Me 262 A- 2A/U2, an experimental 2 man bomber version, where the bombardier lay down in the glazed nose section of the aircraft and aimed the bomb load from this position. Two aircraft were converted and saw some use but the war ended before the type could enter mainstream production. Due to the clear glass nose canopy this was a difficult aircraft to make and the price therefore reflects this. I believe Thomas Gunn are the only manufacturer to offer this model in this scale, it is therefore a very rare model.
We have 10 of this Me 262 variant available priced at $599 plus post and packaging.
Customers who pay before the end of the year qualify for a $50 discount.
Model also comes with free sample of German Luftwaffe figure SS061 The Last Supper.

WOW232: The TA 154 was originally designed as a 2 seat fast attack bomber by Kurt Tank, it was given the designation TA 211 after the the Jumo 211 engines it was envisaged would power this new aircraft. The new aircraft was built primarily of plywood bonded with a special adhesive called Tego film. The only large scale use of metal was within the pressurised cockpit. The TA 154 was named in grudging respect of the RAF Mosquito but was in fact much faster than the RAF fighter and could have proved a formidable adversary had it not been for the Tego film glue being substituted for an inferior compound. This corroded the wood and led to several crashes as the aircraft disintegrated in mid flight, the same problem affected the Heinkel 162 fighter with disastrous consequences for its pilots. By the time the project was cancelled in favour of the Heinkel 219 Uhu, approximately 50 units had been produced with some seeing active service in night fighter units towards the end of the war.
This 1/30 scale night-fighter comes in an attractive late war grey colour scheme and has detachable radar fixings. This model has a wingspan of approx 54cm wide and is approx 42cm long.
We only have 10 available worldwide and our Moskito is priced at $999 plus P&P for the month of November/December only, after that the regular price of $1100 will apply plus P&P. Also comes with free sample of FJ034 sentry figure. For UK and European prices please check out our website www.tomgunn.co.uk as postage rates will differ depending on where you live.
WOW231: The CG-4A Waco (Hadrian in British service) was one of the most widely produced gliders of WW2 with nearly 14000 units being produced. CG-4A's first saw action during the Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943, however inexperience and poor conditions contributed to heavy losses. Waco's next saw action in Normandy, followed by Holland, the Rhine crossing and in the Far East. Although the larger British Horsa could carry more troops the Waco could land in much smaller spaces. The Waco could also be picked up from the ground by an aircraft flying above it by the use of a hook attached to a C-47 Dakota, this system was first used for the rescue of downed aircrew in New Guinea.

Dear all welcome to our November Aircraft newsletter featuring some exciting new products just in time for Christmas. All our hand carved Mahogany aircraft take in the region of 60 hours to manufacture plus many hours of drying time. For this reason we only make small numbers of each model and every aircraft is a unique piece. For those of you who wish to spread your budget, please note we do accept stage payments where you can spread the cost over several months. If you require further details of any of the aircraft in todays newsletter please email us on welcome@tomgunn.co.uk.
Thank you all for your tremendous support earlier this month with our figure release, we saw our CLUB 031 Rommel and also our SS065 parade troops all sell out within a week of release. The majority of our other releases also suffered a higher than normal casualty rate and are now on the critical list. More SS and WH high ranking officers will appear next year as well as some 'in action' Germans.
