HistoryfortheAges sent us this amazing photo of his Gettysburg diorama.

Took me 4 years to research, design and construct. It's in 54mm with many manufacturers represented both plastic and metal. I didn't shrink distances so, what you see is pretty close in scale to the area around the Angle of Pickett's Charge. I hope I got the landscape as close as possible...

Hi Historyfortheages,

What an impressive diorama! I can easily see why it took four years to construct it. Thanks for sharing such a wonderfully researched and patiently constructed scene with us.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Peter I was wondering if you know where this is located because I saw one much like this in seattle

That's a setup, close ups would be nice, but my imagination has taken over. Great Dio, thanks for the pic. Mike:)

Hi Harold,

This is my original version that was exhibited at the Seattle Center in August, 2005. As you know, I have expanded the model to the right (south of the Copse of Trees) to include Hall's and Harrow's men rushing towards the Angle, in aid of the Pennsylvanians at the crucial, final moments of Pickett's Charge.

This view of the diorama is looking towards the Union position. The attacking Confederates are in the foreground.

Hi There,

Do you have this on display somewhere in Seattle I am in Olympia and would like to see it in person. Drop me a PM or a note via email and let me know. Its not my favorite era but its a really cool display and I'd love to see it and chat about it.

All the best

Dave

I saw this display in person while I was visiting my Aunt. We were just walking around the center and we saw the sign for it.Trust me it is incredible:D:D

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It is much appreciated.

I must say, it was a huge effort but, at the same time worthwhile, as I hope to educate people of this era in American history. Now everyone of you has a reason to visit the great Northwest to satisfy your historical interest needs... I hope to be exhibiting again. Anyone interested in my future exhibits can send me a message with your e-mail id and I will contact you with the date/location as they occur. In the meantime, I will send Shannon a couple more pictures to upload for your viewing.

Please be aware that in the last year, I have expanded the model to the right (i.e. south of the Copse of Trees), added more detail to the original design and added some areas of illumination. Pictures of the current set-up are not available as I have not the chance to display the entire model with these latest enhancements.

I am presently, working on having this model permanently available for public display. If anybody has a contact that would like to invest in this venture, please have them contact me. Thank you for your interest!

Steve
