With my new curio the weight limit per shelf is 25 pounds. Does anybody have any ideal how much the average single figure from K&C. JJD or W. Britain weighs? I can trying to work out how many toy soldiers it takes to reach 25 pounds?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Is it mainly wwII or NAPs. Some of the K&C WWII have big bases and can be heavy. The Britains figures are smaller and lighter . The JJD vary. Are any of the figures on horseback?

Give me an idea of what ranges you are shelving and I can weigh out several figures to get some averages.

The K&C figures are the USMC and USN line, that a few Alamo figures. Total of 10. The WWI are all W.Britain glossy figures, most o fthose are sets with cannon, machine guns etc.

The JJD design are all FIW era. Mostly single figures but there are some non figure pieces.

Here are some pics.

Thanks for your help, I don't think I am at 25 pounds per shelf but just wanted to make sure.

I posted in the wrong post...here I go again...buy a set of kitchen scales...these scales are fairly accurate and a better method than guessing the weight .....hope that helps....my wrong post is in the 'At I last found a home" gonna confuse some-one I guess,,,cheers TomB

I saw the thread where you posted photos of the cabinet. The shelves look like 3/8" safety glass so 25 lb. probably has a safety margin built in. At 42" wide, the shelves are quite wide so don't load all the heavy items right at the centre, but you don't have many heavy items.

A selection of 10 figures including one heavy mounted figure weighs 2.5 lbs so it would take 100 figures to reach 25 lbs. I doubt you could easily fit 100 figures on a shelf.

Hope this helps

Then it would take only 8 figures to weigh 2.5 lbs so 80 of the heavy figures could go on the shelf. The heavy mounted figures weigh 8 oz. and it would take only 5 of them to reach 2.5 lbs or 50 on a shelf. And some of the standing figures are much lighter.

I guess 60 or so would be safe. It will be awhile before I fill up with that many {sm2} But fun trying {sm4}
