Thought a nice single figure, seeing as there is a lot of ceremonial figures and soldiers standing to attention ,would be an officer or general with medal in hand outstretched to pin to a soldier

That is a great suggestion. The only existing such set that comes to mind is one of Queen Victoria, awarding the VC, but I can't remember who might have made it. I think that I saw it in Toy Soldier & Model Figure.
