Any of you baby boomers remember the old shows done on the ACW? I remember two of them, "The Americans", which was about the Canfield brothers, (Ben in blue, Jeff in gray), and "The Gray Ghost" which was about Mosby. If I remember right, they both had short runs. Also remember some shows with ACW vets wandering the west such as Johnny Yuma (Nick Adams) in "The Rebel". Any others from your memories? -- Al

Forum cross-over! This gets discussed by the old guys on a CW/WBTS forum I'm on.

I actually remember those shows you listed, most on their first run. The Great Adventure was an anthology show that had a few CW/WBTS episodes as did Zane Grey Theater, hosted by Dick Powell. I think The Rifleman and Wagon Train were the only westerns where the heroes were Union vets in the flash backs. There were a number of Twilight Zone episodes with Civil War settings as well.

I don't remember these or any other except Johnny Rebel.
