Back in 1989 Britains released three United States colour party sets one for the US Army, one for the US Air Force & one for the US Marine Corps. I was wondering if anybody owned these sets or had any decent photos of them that they could share? They only apeared in the catalogue for three years & I've always been fasanated with them, maybe one day Britains may re release the Army & Air Force figures? As they did with the US Marines back in 2006!

Hi There,

I have an Air Force Color Gurad set that was given to me in 88 but I am pretty sure I packed it in my stored sets. I will say that it was fun seeing them back then because most of the items I remember from that era were plastic. So getting a metal set was really very cool.

Sorry I cant help with a photo. They do have some good photos of the set in Norman's Book on Britains from 1973-Present.

Cheers Dave I remember the thrill of getting a new metal set back in the late 80's early 90's, my Grandad bought me most of what Britains had to offer but the only US sets I ever had was the red Marines band, I always remember the 3 sets in the display case at the local shop & always wondered about them as I grew older & looked out for them as I got back into collecting Soldiers. I've seen the photos in the Britains book by Norman Joplin but was hopeing we might get a better photo to look at? Dont worry about not being able to take a photo maybe someone on here will have a set to photograph?

Yes that's the ones I was on about!!! I own the red marine band but haven't seen the other sets since I was a kid! Thank you for taking the time to photograph them for me {sm4} looking forward to seeing the air force set now.

Cheers Craig

High, this is just to show you what you can do with old Britains Ceremonial Figures. Its all the US Marine CorpsWashington D.C. in ceremonial red summer dress of the band and the Colour Party in ceremonial winter and summer dress. Hope you like them. I'm afraid that my 4 members of the US Air Force Colour Party are now marching as US Marines! All conversions are done by Giles Brown of Dorset Soldiers. The directors of music and the senior sergeant majors are from TedToy.
Kind regards,
Peter.
