I first started buying "toy soldiers" as an adult in late 1991 at the Toy Soldier Shoppe then in Brookfield, Wisconsin owned by Bill Schommer. I soon got interested in displaying 1879 Zulu War period sets and I saw both the Kingcast KLE1 "Saving the Colours at Isandhlwana" & KLE2 "Saving the Guns at Isandhlwana" among other Zulu War sets made by assorted makers. I took a pass on the KLE2 set as it was rather expensive so I just purchased the Kingcast KLE1 set for $117.00 USD on 17 February 1992.

On 31 January 2013 I saw my old former toy soldier dealer, Bill Schommer, who now lives in sunny Florida selling on eBay a Kingcast KLE2 set. As it was at a good price I purchased it and received it in the mail on 4 February 2013. So after 21 years these two related Kingcast sets are now on display together at long last!! Ah, it was meant to be after all, at least this is what I told my wife, ha! Please see 5 photos below.
