Gentlemen,
I have just been advised that one of our finest young Forum members - Jake (Lewey Gun Vick) has just graduated from Ranger School and has been posted to the 3rd Ranger Battalion.
I met this lad and his Dad in Chicago a few years ago and as I have mentioned on a previous post that if he is an example of American youth then the US is in great shape for the future.
Congratulations young Jake. I wish you well in your military career. Still a little upset that you didn't take my advice and become a "Tankie"^&grin^&grin Why walk when you can ride.:smile2:
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard:salute::

A great moment and fine achievment. Congratulations, Jake. {bravo}} -- Al

I had the pleasure to have dinner with Jake and his Dad a few years back at the Chicago Dinner and he's a great kid although I guess you can't someone who graduated from Rangers School a kid :smile2: so my congrats to him (and his parents for raising a fine young man).

Well done.

Brad

What's the big deal? It's a 50 cent tab of material {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

Howard, thanks for sharing this information. The motivation on this young Ranger is head and shoulders above that which I had as a young soldier. To know that he asked me for advice at various times over the years is extremely humbling. I know he's wanted this for so very long and to hear that he has achieved it has made my week.

And listen up young Ranger, it's always better to take the scenic route so don't let these tankers and gun bunnies tell you otherwise {sm4} It's also true that just cause your outta school doesn't mean it gets easy. You are going to be pushed well beyond the point that you want to quit. Just stay focused, ruck up and currahee on.

Congratulations on this tremendous accomplishment. You have more than earned my eternal respect.

I too had the pleasure of meeting Jake and his dad a few years ago in Chicago, and I concur in Howard's and Brad's assessment of this fine young man. Jake, I wish you nothing but the best, and thank you for your service.
