Lived in New Jersey all of my life. There are actually a few good things about living in the Garden State.

Beaches
Casinos
Pork Roll
REVOLUTIONARY WAR HISTORY !

Fun day at Allaire State Park today. They had their first Revolutionary War Encampment.

Jockey Hollow, where Washington and his Army stayed during the winter of 1776 (I think) is a great park.

That looks like a large reenactment group. Are you a member Paul?
Cheers,
Brendan

No, just a spectator.

Many great ARW parks here.

Monmouth Battlefield
Washingtons Crossing
Morristown
Fort Lee
Princeton

To name a few.

The encampment continues tomorrow.

We have 'em here in PA, too.

If you use Facebook, have a look at the History Girl's page. She a young college student from Jersey who promotes interest in American history in general, and in New Jersey's rich historical heritage specifically.

Prost!

I can't believe your property taxes in New Jersey are the highest in the country.
The median U.S. property tax bill was $2,132

The 10 of the most expensive counties for property taxes, based on the median paid for single-family homes, are:

County Median taxes
Westchester, NY $13,842
Rockland, NY $10,550
Bergen, NJ $9,546
Essex, NJ $9,288
Nassau, NY $9,091
Passaic, NJ $8,978
Union, NJ $8,926
Morris, NJ $8,549
Hudson, NJ $8,407
Hunterdon, NJ $8,392
