I really do see these as being a nice "force-multiplier" for JJD WWI models, particularly those associated with the Knights of the Skies range:

In this example, I didn't use the accompanying diorama base and wall as it seemed to mute the outline of the vehicle, something that I didn't want to lose. Still, both "tank" and "doughboys" blend very nicely with the JJD model airplanes, figures and other items, in spite of the advertised discrepancy in scale, IMHO.

Very nice, what scale is it? one day I will get the scale link one at 1/32 scale, which will be a challenge to build.....:wink2:
Wayne.

Mate, they're 1/32. The few tanks they made were very nice. If you do a search under ONTC, there are a couple of German tanks on eBay.

Hi Brad,
Read your post, and grabbed a couple of figures for comparison's sake, JJ Donald McLaren, Fritz Kempf and the standing figure beside the ONTC tank. Can't see any difference, scale-wise.^&confuse

Hi Wayne,

More or less simultaneously with my purchase of the ONTC FT-17, I bought a 1/35 kit from an outfit called Meng. It's about four builds a way in the queue, but I'll make an effort to post some pics of it when it's all slapped together.

Moe,

I never bought any of their stuff but they looked real nice, particularly the A7V, which was very heavy. I think the figures may have been sculpted by Ken Osen. I saw their tanks at shows and was tempted but I didn't collect WWI at the time. I can't recall any other company making WWI at the time, although Britains may have. They were also the one of the first companies to try to compete with K & C in WWII although they were 1/32.

Moe, I have my recently purchased JJD St. Chamond tank displayed with my ONWTC French Renault 17 and ONWTC French infantry and I think they look spot on together. I can't see any difference in size, scale-wise, as they just look 'right' when next to each other. I'm trying to get space to throw in my ONWTC A7V and German infantry to do battle with the French but my shelf isn't big enough.:redface2: -- Al

Hi Al,

I'm not sure exactly where the ONTC WWI sets fall in the pantheon of collectible TS. However, I can state pretty emphatically that the one you see above was NOT easy to come by. I found mine through the "Wanted" forum here at TF. Prior to the purchase, I had checked Ebay several times a week for at least six-months with NO success. Never saw a one of them. I'm sure glad that I found what I was looking for at a reasonable price. ^&grin Ah, the virtues of patience, determination and tiny little vehicles for my displays!

Moe,

As they are out of business, and they probably didn't make that many, they're collectible but since we're into the anniversary of WWI and probably JJD or K & C may make them at some point, I believe that will lessen their collectabilify and their value as well. They will just be an interesting collectible, kind of like Bengurion tanks.

Hi Brad,

I was a little surprised to find that KC had never done an FT-17. In a lot of ways, it was the prototype for the modern tank. Also, it served with the armed forces of a lot of different countries. Heck, it can unblushingly be painted panzer gray! I look forward to "all new an improved versions," but I'm still glad to have one from ONTC. Mine is #96 of 200 produced.:)

I have most of the ONTC WW1 sets and they marry up nicely with Jenkins an Britains. ONTC is not as detailed as Jenkins but still look very good mixed together.
