Hi,

A couple of questions for The Old Northwest Trading Co. or for guys ( and girls) in the know.

Is there plans to send out any more scenics?

When will the first of the ACW sets be released?

Regards

Yes...both scenics and ACW sets are coming. To be honest I have been so busy sculpting new figure sets for both W.Britain and Corgi (1/50th) to meet their catalog deadlines that our ONWTC sets are a bit behind. These larger companys need to have product to show at the International Toy Fairs in New York and Nurenberg. Some of our new (ONWTC) sets are in pre production now. The new 'Breakout' set of GIs should be available for sale within 2 weeks.

Quiestion ONTC:

Will you be having ony room trading at the Westcoaster in Irvine, CA for the weekend of Mar.5?

Second, will you be bringing any of your new releases for sale? Which ones will you be bring for display only?

I've collected all of your releases and some two sets.

Thanks,

Carlos

I never received an answer to this question yet. I just thought I'd try again.

Ken, I admire your skills (I have a butch of your work) and wish that I had one half your talent. How long does it take to take a toy soldier or scenic from concept to on the shelf for-sale? And, on average, how much time does it take to sculpt a figure?:) Michael

Hi Carlos, We were going to the West Coaster but the health of my father in law and Ken's dad has forced us to cancel this year. ted Deddens from Ted Toy will be representing us instead. He will have the metal samples of our ACW artillery set and Del Prado. He may also have our new set # ETO-09 whichch is in transit to us. We are sorry we cannot attend. Was looking forward to it.

Hi Andy,
Our ACW set will be available in Late March or Early April. It is in production right now. We have pre order information posted on the MichToy website.

Work is nearing completeion on the 2nd scenic of our WWII line, a box of misc. scenics for WWII, Corn for ACW corn fields and a number of WWI scenics for our upcoming WWI line.

Hi there! Sorry for the delay, it has been some time since I looked at the forum. You have no idea how many new sculpts have been shipped the last 30 days for W.Britain, Corgi and ONWTC. ACW, WWI, WWII, Napoleonic, Rev War, 54mm, 56mm, 40mm and 1/72.
Your question... I suppose it depends on the period and the complexity of the figure. I have a huge collection of research books and a militaria colection to guide me here. Usually a client will just give me a topic and some general guidelines for the type of action and I will take it from there.
Usually a sculpt is on the bench for about three days...they can be long days!
In most cases I work on larger groupings and it seems like nothing is getting done, but in the end I can often increase the output as a whole by doing so.
When the sculpts are finished a mold is made and they are duplicated, samples are painted and the mold and paint control samples are shipped to the factory for pre production. Usually 90 to 120 days from the time we start the work until we have product. This can take longer with change work orders and holidays. I hope this helps.
