Hey Guys, hope everyone is doing well as the weather warms up a bit in anticipation for Spring.
What started out as an Afrikakorps Airfield and a plan to swap out the Germans for either British 8th or a few dust covered Americans, I quickly realized that I just didn't have the troops for an Operation Torch (less one M/Sgt. Joe Gunn portrayed by Humphrey Bogart in Sahara (1943)).
In doing a little web-based research, I learned that the US 2nd Armored Division; of which I have a few K&C figures, played a role in Operation Husky, the Allied Invasion of Sicily (as well as the US 1st Infantry Division), other US divisions, and allied partners. In fact, it was quite an operation involving significant strategic coordination of allied troops.
In any case, this little scene is made up of the US 2nd Armored Division featuring one of K&C's all-metal Sherman M4's (DD382(SE)) and a few additional favorite figures.
