Osprey has a new book on this fantastic raid in Sept. 1943 involving six midget submarines (X-craft). They were towed from Scotland to Norway. Makes for some interesting possibilities in the toy soldier world. The X-craft subs were only about 51 feet long. So they could realistically be made in 1/30 scale. There is a great image in the Osprey book of one of the crew members using his foot to move aside a German mine that had become entangled on the tow line.

Many thanks for this find and the link.
As one might imagine, anything NAVY catches my attention and interest.

Book on order!
