The Battle of the Bulge was Hitlers last gamble in the West, Operation Spring Awakening was the last gasp in the east as the Germans tried to slow up and cause the Russian advance to the Fatherland to come to a halt.............

Led by crack SS units such as LAH, Das Reich and Hitlerjugend, initial German gains were made against the Russian XXX Corps and XVII Tank Corps................

Much like the Ardennes Offensive, Operation Spring Awakening stalled out after initial gains. The Germans began to prepare for the end vs the Soviet onslaught.............

And you the viewer would know this if I included the pictures...........

Great shots George, love the commentary the buildings are cool, those are timeless treasures, and will never get old. Thanks for sharing them with us. Mike:).

Thanks Mike, I try to base my displays on actual events. I'm putting together several more with ETO themes, then it's off to the Far East to showcase the exploits of Aussies, Chindits and Indian troops vs the Japanese..............

Oh man oh man oh man are those dioramas awesome!! Could you imagine how much more I could display in 20mm than in 54mm in my museum!! Thank you for refusing to sell me one of your dioramas a few months ago. I can only imagine that slipepry slope!

Louis,
It would be incredible what we could do in 20mm with all the space you have. We could literally do a running dio from the beaches of Normandy to the shattered streets of Berlin; think of the 26 foot long dio Marc T made for Hans only done in 20mm, ten times as big, it would be a show stopper.................

Well, I tell you what . . . in five years or so, when I do the planned garage conversion as an addition to the museum, I will give you about 500 square feet to fill.

I'd better get cracking then, five years will go by before you know it.....................imagine XXX Corps coming up Hells Highway, the Germans and Russians slugging it out around the Red Barricades factory in Stalingrad, the Aussies and Chindits brawling with the Japanese at Imphal and the Marines landing on Tarawa all right before your very eyes...................
