I just recently sold a 45 piece K&C lot of British redcoats on E-Bay to one buyer.
I contacted him after I tracked that his 2 boxes arrived promptly to leave feedback
once his items arrived and he checked everything out. Yesterday the buyer left me
positive A+ feedback. Today he is claiming that 8 of the figures have broken rifles or
bayonets.Everything was carefully packed in the original boxes with the added piece
of straw placed over the ends of the rifles.Lastly peanut chips were added to make for a snug fit,no rattling around. I have never heard of a bayonet breaking off when
the piece of straw was used. Secondly the buyer yesterday was satisfied and left the positive feedback and now is whistling a different tune. Any suggestions ??????

What is he requesting? A refund? If so, I'd request photos.

I've seen everything from paint chips, to bent bayonnets to broken rifles, heads cut out ... Even with excellent packaging.. You have no idea how bad are UPS/FedEx guys are... I had one who litteraly threw a box filled with wine glasses in front of my door over a 8' distance !!!

So just request pictures of the whole figures and the details ....

Cheers,

Alex

I would tell him to go whistle!! He left feedback saying everything was A ++ no one in their right mind would do that if it wasn't. I think it maybe a case of buyers remorse and he is looking for an out.

Tuff !!!

I think Charlie Sheen is running eBay now. It really has become a joke. I have perfect feedback for the last ten years. Then some idiot leaves me bad feedback claiming that he received a figure with a bent gun. He left it two months after he received the item. He made no attempt to contact me to resolve the problem, which was stupid because it was insured through Stamps.com. He would have gotten a refund in a week. I'm convinced that he probably dropped it. It was very well packed. I could have drop kicked it there with no damage.

I agree with Alex. I have seen very well packaged items arrived broken due to extremely bad handling during shipping. I would ask for pictures too...

E-Bay Buyer/Seller Question

Can an E-Bay buyer file a claim with E-Bay if the following took place:The buyer
recieved the purchased items, stated he would leave buyer feedback once he checked everything out.Buyer left positive feedback 2 days later stating "Great Seller
A++" . The following day after that the buyer contacts me saying he has damaged figures now and will send photos. Sounds like a buyer looking for a way out. Am I
liable here with E-Bay based on the events that took place ???? ^&confuse

Unfortunately ebay will side with the buyer as they do 99% of the time. The buyer may have only opened the box and looked inside and saw no damage. It was only when he took out the figures that he saw the damage. With 8 damaged figures, it's possible the package was damaged. Otherwise the buyer would have to have deliberately broken 8 figures to get out of the deal. That sounds like a lot to break just to get out of a deal (he only needed to break 3 or 4). Hopefully the shipment was insured.

Another clue may be what the buyer wants to do. If the photos show 8 damaged figures and he wants a price adjustment rather than a refund, that would imply the shipment was damaged. I would see if he wants to buy the undamaged figures.

I have this question...was the buyer asked to leave feedback right away? I'm asking because the buyer stated "he would leave feedback once he checked everything out"...so I'm assuming he must have been asked fairly quick upon the transaction delivery to do so?

What happened was I tracked the buyers 2 boxes as being delivered via USPS.I then
sent a message to the buyer stating to please leave feedback once he checked everything out. 2 days later he left positive feedback stating"Great Seller A++"
Then the following day he changed his tune !!! ^&confuse

You could ask for photographs of the damaged figures, and if they are really damaged, perhaps offer to refund the 8 damaged figures provided he pay the return shipping.

Sorry to hear about this it is really lame.

Thanks for clarifying that because I was trying to figure out why or how the buyer got to the point of making the statement unless asked. I would think he looked them over too fast and then found the damage later. I for one think people are for the most part honest as eBay claims. If you think about it from his stand point why leave positive and then go back and make a claim that he could need the negative should you deny him. My suggestion is to be professional and give him a refund and block him from bidding on future items. It is unfortunate as a seller you take time to package something so well and then it's all in the hands of the delivery people on how the package is handled...."with care" or "without care"
